My new Guitar - edited for visibility
PRS Studio model. Sitting at Sweetwater and having one of the sales guys (good buddy) bring me PRS after PRS to try out before buying was really quite fun. Ultimately this one was the winner. It was neck and neck with an Amber Black one, but I already have a Parker that basic color. Had to go in a color direction that was new. Plus this one just spoke to me the loudest. 24 month free financing and a case of free PRS strings... add to that a smokin' deal and I couldn't say no....Pair this with the new amp and cab I also bought that day and I am having FUN playing again.

What, you can't translate alpha-numeric characters into the image of a PRS in your head? Rookies. You wouldn't last a day in the Matrix.

Yeah. I especially liked the Il6QIydQkSfugEistCnvUEnlJxbOUklmZhvRQivyBnhjhUa2I2.

That's a beauty. Personally, I've begun to boycott PRS due to their prejudicial business practices. But since they stopped producing left handed guitars, my high minded sense of justice is having zero effect.

Bill- I just noticed the symbol behind the bridge, same as on the Saints helmets. I have no idea what that is but I like the Saints and it looks cool on your guitar! Does your guitar play with a drawl? That could take the place of a wah pedal maybe eh? Rain - just like your recent adventure with your new Gibson, getting a new guitar, one that you have wanted for a loooong time is a pretty special moment. I still totally enjoy my old PRS, a custom SE, plays and sounds great, but when I set it down and pick the new one up, well it is just a totally different experience. I've never had a guitar of this quality before. I figured after playing for roughly 50 years it was time. Dave

nice!! i've wanted one of these for a long time.. i met paul reed smith, back in 1980, before he was 'PRS' he had a tiny little shop in annapolis, and did some bridge work on my ibanez artist for me. he was in the middle of putting the birds of prey inlays into what was Santana's very first paul reed smith guitar. that was very cool. very well made instruments, that sound excellent! congrats!

I need to find something to do w/ my strat. I see it sitting there, and it seems a shame not to use it. Then I start thinking about what I'd upgrade. Pick ups for sure - that thing needs a humbucker. A new pickguard would be needed to accommodate that. Plus the knobs are constantly falling off and electronics would need to be replaced and/or cleaned up. But then, I can't really just put a mighty new loaded pickguard on that damaged body. There's a pretty nasty dent in it and a few not as bad ones... I guess I could have the finish stripped off, the whole thing sanded and repainted. I'd like it painted white and with a black pickguard - if I'm to re-do it, might as well have it the way I want. That being said, I might as well just buy a new body from Warmoth or Mighty Might, put the new electronics and pickguard on that and snap on the old neck. Except that, at that point, I realize that there's nothing so special about my old maple neck and that I tend to prefer rosewood these days... So basically, the only thing I'd use from it would be the tuners and the bridge - not because I like them but because they don't really bother me. That's why my old strat is still sitting there...
