My new Song "Shadows and light"

Man, this was very good.  I loved those guitars peeling out little melodic rhapsodies from every corner.   Bass was also nice and clear and solid holding all together.

Wow. Grabbed me from the start. But did that instrument that had the melody line have to go as far as it did before it got joined by other instruments?

Had a kinda classical theme before the grungy stuff started. Then this classical guitar started back in. That was interesting. Such an unexpected ending. Kinda just keeled over and died, though. Couldn't it have faded longer?

You had some interesting ideas here. Did you have to throw them all at us at once in one song? Maybe if it were a video, would the diversity of it work. But in a song, we like to get comfortable with a main idea, a main theme, some main instruments....you get the picture. We can't process a lot of different stuff so fast as you introduce in your song here. 

My own songs are simple to the point of boredom. They put me to sleep. (I'm not joking. Sometimes, I fall asleep during the edits). But I noticed that the really good songs here don't get too complicated, either.

Your music sounds fun. You sound genius. It just had too much for me to grow comfortable with.

Now, remember, I'm old and traditional. Things may have changed. This may have become the "new" music I missed somewhere along the line. And you may very well be the very best at what you do.

i have lot of ideas
and this is like Progressive rock but some friends here want some songs with acoustic guitars (Larry) so this song is acoustic then electric then acoustic in the end .
I have more songs i begin here 2007.........
but i have  nº1 Top Progressive Rock MySpace Portugal, lots of times with more than 40000 friends and i play all styles of music !!!i have 51 years not so young.
but i believe in Future this is my future

Great blend of acoustic and electric Joao!! I'm glad you're making and posting music again as I was afraid you were spending all your spare time fishing?? :)

The acoustic intro surprised me, cause I think this is the first time I've heard you play it?? Wow!

You always amaze me with those 'chops' and I wasn't disappointed when the electric poured out those fusion riffs!

Excellent tones and phrasing and you always seem to create different 'worlds' in your compositions. I like that.

Good drums and solid. I like the synth voices on the ending. Very spacey/trippy.

FWIW - I have Takamine ( solid mahogany back/sides w/ cedar top) coming my way shortly...

Very cool my friend… it hops from style to style but it’s all good and interesting. I do like the little slide accenting underneath the first theme – a little “Harrisonesque”. You’re quite a player – very nice feel to the guitar work. The tones are super also. Some of this has a Cirque du Soleil sound to me – but I truly mean that in a good way (the tracks from La Nuba are killer). Great job!
