My new install collision

This would suck. Any fixes?

Try a rescan. Sometimes a prior plugin in the scan corrupts the scanner and can cause another plugin to crash.
Its likely what happened here esp if Rapture scanned OK before in Platinum. There are no changes to the scanner for CbB.

I get those occasionally. For plug-ins that have scanned OK in the past, I always enable the plug-in and let the scanner continue. If it is the first time the plug-in is scanned, it would be a different matter.

Once I copied the remaining vst paths that were not there in the new cakewalk vst paths folder and performed a re scan, it worked. Thanks. Strange it was only Rapture sessions that failed to scan correctly.

It can be random. On a system with hundreds of plugins the scanner is literally loading all those plugins one after the other. If even one of them corrupts memory (and there are many that do so!) it can cause a scan failure on a subsequent plugin. Thats why it can succeed on a subsequent scan but not the first one or a failure might appear random.

I've seen this several times day one. Now the scan is complete and everything seems to work fine.

What issue are you having? Is there an error message?

This tends to be is an issue in all versions whenever a full rescan is done from scratch. Unfortunately a new version of the software requires this so there was no way to avoid it easily. Hmm maybe I should migrate the whole VST inventory when a user chooses to migrate to make this less error prone :)
