Thanks drma173. I'm not hearing what you are concerning the harmonies but I'm done with this song anyway. It's all about fun for me. I'm working on the next song which is about my two dogs (with no bad words). I'll checkout your tunes.

Liked it... catchy tune. I'm no expert on mixing but the mix sounded very good over here. But if the song ever started going anywhere, you may have to change the title and wording a bit... lol. Enjoyed the listen!

Excellent mix with everything in its place. It has a nice, open sound with good panning so that it doesn't sound narrow. I'd be interested in hearing your next song.

Thanks. LOL. Yes, the song will have to be silenced mid-word or something like:Everyone knows you are such a _ick They won't say it but you are a _ickand a d_bag
Maybe the joke will be that the listener will sing aloud and know to fill in the blanks.

Thanks Lynn. You have had kind words for me before. Checkout https://soundcloud.com/jmasno5/something-always-comes-along I took tracks from my Tascam 244 4-track cassette recorder. Remember those things? Tascam actually repaired it for me a couple of years ago so I could salvage my old tunes track by track.

I listened the other day but was not sure how to respond. I agree the mix is well done and I love the sassiness of it. It reminds me of Steely Dan. Well done.

Very unusual idea: a character assasination number, something like John Lennon's How Do You Sleep(or Dylan's positively 4th Street), couched in a smooth blues rock rock groove, reminiscent of the Atlanta rythm section. The lyrics are an unrelenting series of ad hominum attacks and generic insults directed at some loser fellow whom you liken to a disposable female hygiene device. Given all that, I think its pretty darn cool, with double entendres and unexpected rhymes in the lyrics. I don't think I've ever heard 'dick' and 'prick' rhymed before in a song. I really like the contrast of the smooth, seductive 70's instramental, with the abusive, angry lyric. Production values are really good. Cool project, overall. Cheers, Bert

Sounds well here, as noted well balanced open mix. Thanks for sharing. On the "bad words" front just give a mention that your song may contain some words people might find offensive.

Thanks. I made the change. It had been posted that way on the Sound Cloud link. I just failed to do it here in the forum. Sorry about that.

Thanks. Yes, people individually, including my wife and brother-in-law, have said its got a Steely Dan sound to it. It was not intentional though I do like Steely Dan. I'm a big believer that you can't help things come out in your music that you like.

Thank you. And, sounding like Steely Dan seems to be a common comment.

Thank you very much! You, my friend, should review songs for a living. While I was writing the song I realized that "You're a Mean One, Mr. Grinch" came to mind only in that both songs are unrelenting in their character assassinations. Except, in Douchebag, it's not only the singer that feels this way as his feelings are shared with is co-workers.

Sounds like a great mix here. Real clean, everything is balanced and well placed, and the parts are nicely played.

Well, it describes people I have known, and probably have been, from time to time, in my life. lol... It definitely has a Steely Dan feel to it. Maybe a bit of a Black Friday feel? I really like the guitar work. And the mix sounds great. Nice Work.
