My new space heater looks just like a display monitor

30" and 2560 x 1600 pixels.

I stopped waiting for them to become affordable.

It has a billion colors... maybe it will make all the grey look really nice.

Now I want have to know what the bapu uses.

'Tis the one I want too...

I've got two 21.3" Samsung's and I could then add them to each side of the Dell if I wanted to (turned into "portrait" mode).  Then I could have 4960 x 1600!  Hehe...

Pfft...

I don't use any monitors.

Just a pair of modified binoculars that match my headphones and make me look like a complete twat pro.

I purchased a brand spanking new 15mm combination spanner from Halfords yesterday.

Should I:
  1. Start a new thread to tell everyone
  2. Start a new thread to tell everyone and post pictures of said spanner
  3. Just put the bloody thing in my toolbox without letting anyone know
  4. Complain that it's not as good as the previous spanner that I can't find for some reason
  5. Try a bit harder to find the old spanner and then return the new one for a full refund or store credit
  6. STFU

"15mm combination spanner"

Chrome or Nickle plated.

Gosh, a good spanner wrench can get me excited... not like a monitor I've been wanting for 3 years and finally decided to go for... but excited none the less.

Let's have some pics!

Oh BTW,

I'm pretty excited to think that I may actually be able to read the lettering in X if I should choose to re install it.

Not being able to see anything in the X gui was a big downer for me... I'm hoping this may help me get back in the swing of things.

best regards,
mike

But you said it was a "space heater" that you got.

And that it just "looks like a display monitor"

Now I'm perplexed.

What did you really get?

PS - I really did get a new spanner.

And not a spanner that looks like anything else.

That's why I said I got a spanner...

And not "a large hadron collider that looks like a spanner".

It's all very confusing for simple folk like me.

Re:My new space heater looks just like a display monitor 2013/05/14 17:16:55 (permalink)

I got a new monitor.

The part I was interested in was the 2560 x 1600 pixels... I've been hoping they would become affordable but I guess not in my lifetime. :-)

The part I am a bit insecure about is the 30" size... it seems really big for our tiny place. I may end up hating it.

The part I was joking about is that a display that size functions as a low powered space heater.

The part I am looking forward to is finding out if the 30" size makes it easier for me to work in the studio with a single pair of glasses.

I was just blowing off some steam after going through the stress of finally deciding to buy the darn thing.

I'm pretty sure they wll be 50% off by the end of the week now that I've bought one. :-)

Anyways. I hope you enjoy your new spanner.

best regards,
mike

I was just reading the user manual for the monitor and was surprised that the monitor itself is only 25 pounds (talking weight here Steve, not cost ).

I think that might actually still work with my monitor holder that attaches to those four screws in the middle of the monitor allowing you to ditch the stand, turn the monitor any way you want and move it all over the place.

Cool!

(You can almost get life-size sheep porn on one of these!)

I would love to have it on a pylon and get rid of the sound reflecting desk.

I'd probably miss the desk but I know I'd enjoy the improved sound.

:-)
