My soundcard keeps on disconnected

Hi, It keeps popping up a err message during recording or editing in Sonar. this is the error message The above audio / MIDI device was disconnected from your system. Would you like SONAR to reroute these outputs to an available device? Clicking 'No' allows SONAR to remember output settings to the device. Note: If playback is progress, clicking 'yes' will stop transport. http://img38.picoodle.com...tha/gin8_179_u6sow.jpg after selecting "Yes" http://img38.picoodle.com...ntha/fl8_561_u6sow.jpg Please Help Thanks Chintha My Config Intel Core Quad CPU 2.66GHz 6GB Memory EDIROL UA-101 Windows 7 Ultimate (x64) Service Pack 1 S ONAR X1c Producer (x64)

Dbl check to make sure your device is not being physically disconnected from computer (loose connection etc) or otherwise losing power. Got this message once and couldn't figure out - till finally realized the constant tapping of my right foot was from time to time jiggling the not very secure connection to computer.

If you have a USB audio device that uses USB power (i.e. it doesn't have a separate power cord plugged into a wall socket), you may be exceeding the power limit in your computer's USB hub. Try plugging your audio device into a different USB port.

Are you set to the UA-101 for input and output and is your internal sound card deselected?  What device is it that keeps popping up in the message - your UA-101 or your internal sound card?  In your "Playback and Recording" settings under preferences what are your settings for "Share Devices with other programs" and "Always Open All Devices?"

This happens to me all the time but it is project specific for me... some projects, I never get the message, other projects, it will eventually happen....

The only real difference in these project that would affect this (IMHO) is which plugins/VSTi are being utilized.

    So, there ya go.

PS - I am using WIN7 x64 (but happened when I was using XP 32 bit as well).  I have the OCTUPUS audio interface (happened though when I was using GINA 3G) running on an INTEL with 8GB RAM

Good points above.  I have never had this happen to me personally, but I would also suggest you check the power scheme of your computer, as well as the 'power management' tab in the properties of each USB Root Hub on the system (in the Device Manager) to make sure they are not going into 'sleep' mode.
