    Hi,

Goodness ... is that a Picasso on the wall in that gray foam looking thing?

    Thanks guys!!!
    Yeah, I'm pretty psyched.
I'm in the process of getting the room tuned, still have a couple more traps to build for the front corners.  Paying for everything out of pocket though (Cash), so it's taken a while, but I've built it with my own two hands.
I've come far from that tiny little "L" shaped bedroom I mixed my first two albums in!!
I'm not going to do any serious mixing in there until I get those speakers installed.  That reminds me, I gotta call JBL to see if they can find the mounts for those things!!  They show them on their website but they're nowhere to be found!!

    Wish me luck!!!

Thanks for the kind compliments!!  This is like a dream come true for sure.

Cool, found and ordered the wall mounts!!  These speakers weigh 30# each. Fortunately, I'm mounting on either side of the window and there are SERIOUS studs there.

I also designed the room with the 38% rule in mind.  My mix position is 38% from the front of the room. The speakers will be placed at the exact distance on either side of the window corresponding to my mix position so it'll be a PERFECT triangle!!

Is that nice or what! You got some serious bragging to do "spindlebox". And wait until you hear those JBLs in action (within your room), you won't regret it. I'm curious about the room dimensions?

Yeah, I can't WAIT to hear those JBL's.  I feel like my studio is "on hold" right now until I get them!!  LOL.

Scott, you're not serious about making music or anything, are you?

Now I'll just have to think of an excuse to come up to KC sometime.

Well, I'd probably just drool all over everything anyway, so maybe I shouldn't.  lol

Congrats, and way to go!  :-)

    Hey Crg,

Here's some pics on how I built my traps.  The construction materials are 1/4" Pegboard, wire, two 2" 703 sheets, staple gun and spray adhesive:

These were hung to the ceiling with "O" hooks screwed into some serious anchors carefully placed.

These traps cost me about $30/each!!!!
