Speaking as a younger boy myself, I would always blame the milk monitor for something as trivial as a nominal insertion such as this. Generally speaking, older boys only make juniors change their given names, not their middle names. And usually they tell you that you'll now be known as 'Mildred'. Or possibly 'Matron' if they're feeling lonely. I'm reliably informed that older bouys specialise in relieving younger boys of their tuck shop money and food hampers from home.
