My tinnitus sounds like cicadas when it is really quiet around here...
my pulse adds modulation to the mix and it reminds me of a hot summer night with cicadas in the trees all around. Has anyone tried that Quietus they advertise? Anything help? My ears ring all the time, really high pitch frequency. Most of the time I don't notice it because it is always there but I'm thinking... I wonder what it would be like to hear nothing but external sounds. Eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee J

The affliction drives me crazy sometimes Julien. I run a fan I found all night when I go to bed. It really helps. I will be going to the VA in a couple of weeks to upgrade my disability level. It never goes away and sometime I can't get the TV loud enough. It's easier to live than dry mouth. That is real torture!!!

Some of the pills do work, but not all, depending on the cause of the Tinnitus. Sometimes hearing aids work too. I have it really bad and it seems to be getting worse as I get older. I also have this odd thing happen where I'll suddenly go deaf in one ear, then I hear a high pitch ringing and my hearing slowly fades back in as the ringing fades out. I mentioned it to my Otolaryngologist and he looked at me like I had two heads. Said he never heard of that before. I have a bad feeling one day, sound is going to go away, and not come back.

Bub, I've had that happen all my life. It's nothing to worry about. I bet you can feel a pressure when it happens but no pain. It happens to me a few times each year and the episode only lasts for a minute. I've always thought it was a brain fart causing the pressure in the inner ear to build..

Hi ampfixer, Wow! Yes, I feel pressure when it happens. You're the only other person I've ever known what I'm talking about. Any idea what causes that?

Bub Wow! Yes, I feel pressure when it happens. You're the only other person I've ever known what I'm talking about. Count me in too as I get it every now and then. A short high pitched sound and like the ear is closed off. Usually goes away after a few seconds for me. I don't have any other real hearing problems though (except wax ). I assume it's just pressure/fluid/something-like-that so I never worried about it.
In order, then, to discover the limit of deepest tones, it is necessary not only to produce very violent agitations in the air but to give these the form of simple pendular vibrations. - Hermann von Helmholtz, predicting the role of the electric bassist in 1877.

Bub Hi ampfixer, Wow! Yes, I feel pressure when it happens. You're the only other person I've ever known what I'm talking about. Any idea what causes that? In my case it seems to be a problem in the little vent tube that connects the ear and throat. It gets blocked and messes up the air pressure behind the ear drum. I would consult with your doctor as there are many things that may also cause the same symptom. Don't panic, remain calm, it will pass.

I get exactly that too Bub..my blood pressure is normal, but I get a lot of problems with my sinuses, I'm guessing it's to do with that.
