My week at Bisley (in pictures for Bapu)

Hi guys,   I'm back from my 9 days at the National Championships  (just incase anyone noticed I was gone).

So, as is tradition, you now have to sit through 5 hours of holiday snaps

The first day of shooting for me was the Grand Final of a postal comp that had been running through the year.  I managed 6th place .  Here I Am getting my prize from the MD of Eley.  (A pair of engraved lead crystal glasses)

The week went quite well most of the time, only rained on two days though when it rained, it rained...
The wind was variable, but mostly not to bad.
A couple of views of the firing line during a 50m shoot.  Note the horizontal wind flags...

Here's me shooting 100 yards.   (I'm the one with the fat arse)

... and the results of my efforts, a Maximum    (if only all my cards were like that...)

Happy Happy

It's hard work all this laying down...

Prize Giving.  I won 1st in one of the competitions

Final results.   1st,  2nd,  3rd,  4th and 5th in assorted comps. A few other minor placings.

3rd overall in my class in the grand aggregate.  Promotion to Class 'A'

    That's fantastic.  Congratulations.

Based on viewing in a mirror, I think I have a grouping similar to this on my backside.  How that happened is a mystery...

Trying to keep track of all those placings, it looks to me like you took 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th AND 6th!

Did you leave ANY awards for others to win?  Did you just keep going thinking there MUST be a golden cowbell in here somewhere???

(Great shooting Karyn!  Now you can hire yourself out to help with musician/label "negotiations" - heh, heh, heh...)

I tried one of the latest high tech, high spec, high powered rifles at my local sports club, I didn't get on very well with it though.

I don't think the fault was with me I'm convinced it was the gun.

The bowling wasn't that hot and I'm sure I'd have scored a few runs using my usual bat.

There are 6 main competitions (each with 5 classes), comp 7 is the aggregate of all your scores from 1-6.
There are also several other individual comps, of which I entered about 6.
The National Championship competition is seperate, shot as two elimination stages followed by a final.  I got 4th (in class).
Then there are the county team competitions. (We didn't do very well).
The final day is the "Champion of Champions" match where all the County Champions compete against each other.  I came exactly half way, 16th of 31.  I was happy with that, shooting against the "best of the best".
