Mystery Measures Being Added When Pasting? Help!

Hi,
Has anyone else experienced this?:
You've got a song with many measures.
You want to repeat a part of the song, say the chorus, for an additional time.
So, you make space for it by moving everything further ahead the amount the newly repeated part will need to fit in. This creates an empty number of measures.
You select the part you want to repeat with the mouse and Select cursor and then CTRL+click drag the selected portion to the blank area. Right???

Sometimes this works fine, but other times it adds on a HUGE amount of measures to the overall length of the song. AND the clips are now disorganized and the seek scroll at the bottom of the track window will no longer work. When I try to drag the seek indicator at the bottom, it immediately jumps to the far right and I can no longer move it, even though the song position has not moved at all.

Have I put Sonar some kind of mode I'm unaware of? I may have hit an F key I was unaware of...

Also- Any tips on song/sequence editing would be greatly appreciated! I copy and paste a lot and want to get better at moving parts of songs around.

Thanks!

This sounds like the problem that happens with Paste Special if "Slide over to Make Room" is enabled. I recommend unchecking that option until Ripple Editing appears in an update.

Ripple Editing? That would really make my life a lot easier, lol.
In my old Roland MV-8800, it's called "Copy & Insert" as opposed to "Copy & Paste".
Select a portion of the sequence and stick it anywhere. Everything stays intact and moves down accordingly.

I'd like to get your book on Sonar Tips, but the link I found doesn't lead to it.
Can you tell me where I can find a copy of your book?
    Thanks again!
