NEED HELP INSTALLING SOFTWARE

Is there anyone who has had Project 5 in the past that can help me out  ? Two days ago I installed Project 5 and updated it so it would accept VST files .
After doing that I installed my Addictive Drum software using that adapter wisard in Project 5 , its suppost to take my addictive drum folders and install them correctly into Project 5 .

I looked to see if Addictive Drums was in my list of VST files and its not showing up at all , this is driving me crazy because it was working just fine in my old PC .
Last night I reconnected my old PC and looked to see where all the addictive files were located in Project 5 and then I reconnected my new PC again and went back in and placed the Addictive drums floder in the VST plugin folder located in my CakeWalk folder and the Addictive drums ( Dll ) file I placed in my ( Shared pluggin ) folder .
Still nothing is showing up as Addictive Drums in my VST list in Project 5 , I lost for answers on this one .

I guess I will have to email support for my Addictive Drum software  , this sucks not being able to get that working .
Anyway if anyone has any suggestion that might help that would be great , for now I'll keep at it all day and night I guess .

Thanks -James

Were your old computer and your new computer using the same version of Windows? Vista and Windows 7&8 use virtualization to enforce file locations and permissions and are also more limited in access to other user accounts. Project 5 was never updated after XP so far as I know, so the default installations may be running afoul of that. Sometimes running an installation as an administrator is helpful for that kind of problem.

It is possible to move files without assigning new permissions. Try locating the files that you moved right click to see properties then security and permissions. Setting full access to everyone may solve the problem.

Thanks for the help , I have been banging my head out all day installing , reinstalling over and over and nothing is working where it shows up in my Project 5 VST and DXi list box .
Not sure when the new update was released but it updates my old version of project 5 to the newest version that accepts VST files plus other things too .

I have been on the forum for support for Addictive Drums and under my account I can't update my computer ID name if I'm using my software on a new PC .
Problem is thats not working either after I put in my correct computer name and numbers & letters for my new computer .
I'm now wondering if somehow because I installed Addictive Drums on a new computer its somehow locking the software where it will not show up when I look for it in Project 5 .
This has never happened on my old PC , I purchased Addictive Drums shortly after I built my other old PC so it was registered under that computer ID name .

I'm waiting to hear from the company I purchased the software from plus I'm posting my problems on their forum for support to find out whats going on with this software .
Installing the rest of my addon VST software is now on hold untill I get this fixed first .
I was hoping to have everything up and running by tommorrow on friday but now thats shot down the tubes !

I'll have to check out your suggestions and see what I come up with , thanks for the suggestions  .
