NEW SONG - SLOWDOWN

 
Hi everyone , hope everyone is having a good month just before the Christmas holidays this year . 

 
This song started out slow for me , just wasn't in the creative mood because of all the other stuff going on here at home .
Not sure if I should try to add more to it or just leave it as is , maybe a few of you out there might leave me a comment or a suggestion .
I tried to get the mix right , what do you think ? Thanks for listening , I'll checkback later.

Interesting collection of sounds... the mix is very good... all the patches, phrases, and beats sound fine... I think you should develop it into a more musical arrangement...

Thanks for the listen and suggestions , I was thinking about messing around with some strings in the second section to help build that up a bit more . My bridge section could use something more in that as well I think .
Any fresh ideals in your head and ears , its been one of those slow creative months for me in Dec .

Thanks , the two verses do have a melody track in each one along with a
chord progression track . The melody track has the trumpet in it , maybe
your talking about my chorus sections .

 Nice arrangement James.  The trumpet seems as if it could come forward considerably,maybe through less verb on it? The tempo seems to be dragging slightly. Not off beat just seems like it could use a shot of red bull:) JMO. The snare seems to be coming out a lot more than the rest of the kit. 

 If this is intended as background then it is fine. I'm guessing that your intentions are for it to be mostly an easy listening type of thing.Great job so far!

Yes James.  And keep in mind that "spreading" "widening", panning, and such can be done in a number of ways, other than the obvious turning the Pan knob.  Use of delays, doubled tracks, Eq, Haas effect, amongst others can be used to widen or spread your field.  On the drums, start by just checking the pan placement of the HiHats vs the Snare for starters in your drum program.

I'll have to take another listen when I'm in my studio (on laptop now) to check out the trumpet/compression question.

 You could try the panning the other instruments and if you kept the trumpet centered with either no reverb or a small plate on it this should bring the trumpet out more. You can  add a limiter to the trumpet track/adding some eq. Panning will make it more spacial but over panning will loose mono compatibility.

TNF, surly you know how easy it is to manipulate those figures? Perhaps you notice that outside of you, absolutely nobody posts them? This is because they are meaningless. Anyway. I will give you credit for consistency.

You act as if I'm the only one who post WIP songs to get some feed back on , excus me you seem to always trash me no matter what and thats because you don't like me and never did in the past .

You`re correct and I would surmise it`s because Shad tried to give James some Constructive Critisism but as James is much like Bobby (doesn`t really take critisism well and always feels it`s like an attack on him) I fear the prob here is all the goody goody **** going on ...I myself came here years ago to learn but tact doesn`t teach you, hard truths do. Too many people feel the need to be christian or nice here which is great but you don`t learn anything about the craft from people being that way. JMPO

I don't call myself a Christian but I do try to be friends with people not hate them and trash them !
Yes I do get on the affensive with for years now its the same huys who feel they must bully me around hoping I will give up music and leave this forum for good after all thats really what some of you want .
 
My music might not be the best or greatest but I atlease try my best and some of what I have created isn't all that bad not as bad as you say it is .
Atlease I don't post my song and start trashing you people for all the wrong reasons , I started this post with a HAPPY HOLIDAY TO EVERYONE !
What did I get from you people except for trash talk directed at me and my new song , I posted it because I wanted some feedback on the mix but you people ripped it apart piece by piece !
The real trulth is you , Shad and some of the others hate me , want me off the forum ! If you can't ban him hey lets just trash the man untill it can't take it anymore and sooner or later he will leave for good .
 
A MESSAGE TO CAKEWALK ! I will not spend another penny on your products because of the way I have been treated on the forum by the same people that trash me and my music all the time .
Thats why I removed my song link , the song is still posted on SoundClick and will remain there untill I decide to remove it or replace it with another version .

James, Where did I call myself a Christian? ...I am a pure Atheist ...sorry you thought otherwise. As for coming here all the time I rarely come here anymore because of all the freak outs on here rather than just people
realizing ...Someone is actually giving them good advice. How can I hate you I don`t even know you but I do feel you really can`t take critisism. I don`t think that`s bullying by trying to tell someone the truth. When Have I trashed you in the past? You need to grow a thicker skin and learn basically that`s all shad was sayin......Anyway Merry Ho Ho and Happy Holidays.
 
P.S. not buying Cakewalk stuff is only depriving yourself of quality software...I don`t think anyone on here will feel hurt by that statement you made.

Oh well, can't listen or comment on nothing.    Perhaps it shouldn't  have been posted if not ready for constructive criticism.

James, at this point I have to assume you are not actually a man, but a 12 year old boy pretending to be a man. A rather sensitive and paranoid boy at that. Nobody hates you, nobody hates your music. All I asked you to do was to try to grow a little musically. How does this relates to me hating you? I can see no reason why anybody would want to ban you. Unless you think being banned is somehow cool, and are trying to get banned thinking it somehow raises your cred. If that is the case you are going about it the wrong way. Get a grip on yourself.
