DPC spikes can be caused by network drivers especially wireless. Having said that I would definitely uninstall the new driver and install 3.5.5 before doing too much diagnosis. You should see a definite performance improvement with that.

I did report the problem to their Q&A who acknowledged it and said that it should get fixed sometime..... that was 18 months ago though.

You'll need to host them somewhere like Photobucket and get the link code from there.

Then you can click the picture icon here (the one that looks like a mountain with a sun) and paste the URL into the dialog box.

Ok...I installed the PCI-e 1x card into the PCIE-16x/1x slot...it seemed to do a firmware update when booting..my ssd's were on it at the time...as the book said to do....Well windows did load its own driver...But the SSD drives crash the system....So...I unpluged em when shut down...and windows booted back up...the card is installed and supposedly working properly...but I cannot connect the ssd's to it.

Next.
I Got Spaccy to do the computer info stuff....and am ready to post anything necessary...If that will help.

Seeing as my drives/files have all moved...it will take time to get projects running ....

Swapped the Firewire Port card with the UAD...Might make a difference in recording stability..the FIrewire port is on the last PCIE 1x slot at the bottom of my Motherboard.
and the PCIE 16x/1x slot is after that as the final slot...not sure if these ports share?...I think that is a problem of past yeara?. the uad solo card
Is above the PCI E16x video slot.
..I hope that is ok?.

Again thanks for the help.

OK Bristal Jonesy...I have all the old drivers downloaded..and awaiting the techs here to give me guidance on what to do next with my system specs/build first....

If my system is the cause of the problems (cards in bad slots or having conflicts, or bad system tweaks which crippled the OS or System through bad bios settings and such) then maybe I do not have to remove the newest ZED  firewire driver for the Mixer...
It is not that I am ignoring you at all..Please be patient..I will get around to that eventually if need be....

Thanks so much for your valued input...More hair is starting to sprout!..and hope is starting to be reborn in my mind.

System has been on all night....seems she is burnt in ?.
Not sure why those SSD's are crashing the system...perhaps one at a time? might find a problem with one or the other?...it should work...marvel controller is used on my SSDs and this is a Marvel controller card...sandforce controllers were said to me to be buggy...So I went with Marvel controllers.

Not sure what happened when I installed the PCI-E 1x add on card...seems a firmware update happened...all it said was "DO Not to turn off the system, firmware is being updated"...then Finish sucessfully..and continued to boot.
Perhaps it was updates for the SSDs? and it crapped em out?
Well I will find out today...as I start putzing with it...

Cheers!

Hello Fastbikerboy....when I finish doing these setups...I turn all network adapters off...No use of wireless adapters either, Although I do have one...for emergency system connections to the internet if the modem breaks down...
The recording room is way too far to use wireless right now...perhaps in future I will get a extension antenna for the wireless router ..but that is not a issue here right now, as I ran a very long cat6 cable to the router..(best to hardwire)..once I do the tweaks and get all I can done with help from this forum and others...I will kill internet connections and any adapters (as A & L have specified this as being a problem with their device and drivers)
I usually defeat the nic adapter in Bios..and turn off all services that may want to auto update....

Right now I believe I Just turned on windows update, to help UPDATE/ or cause more mischieft/ and I have tried to turn off others just recently (Adobe seems to be a bit tricky as I am not sure which service it uses)

Thanks again...we are making progress...
