Epic! I like how you've got the acoustic up front with the electrics weaving around in support. Lovely acoustic tone too, care to share the signal path for that? Good arrangement, the percussion pops up just at the right times - when the party's getting started Very nice work Bats.

THANKS JAMES..... i worked that arrangement. had about 3 other versions before this one.. i posted those in the songs forum some time back.. 4 rhythm acoustic tracks, 2 are the Taylor 414, 2 are the Seagull Artist. acoustics are dirt simple to record. shure KSM44, pointed somewhere towards the 12th fret, i'm probably 24" away. mic into A Designs Audio MP-1 tube mic pre...hit the VU about 0db... out of that and into a DBX MC-6 compressor, set on the classic dbx 160 mode... unity gain and out, and into the soundcard. once in, it gets the low end rolled off, sweeten the top end, maybe a tuck at 350hz and around 2khz, then ITB i run all acoustics to a Acoustic Guitar buss, and that gets a Waves C1 across it.

Hey batsbrew, I like the track, it's dynamic. I like the interactions going on between the vocal harmonies and the electric guitar fills. The percussion halfway through was a nice touch. Did you play that? Awesome job. Amine

Well done! I think this has a real eagles feel to it as some of your other material does...and the Eagles were a fantastic band. Kudos!

thanks for listening, amine! please spread the word about the new album.... yes, i play everything on the recording. i WISHED i had a good percussionist handy, but you know how these things are... maybe i'll search out collaborators on my next efforts, i do quite a few of them, and they are always fun and learning experiences.

What a fantastic song, and your great talent is showcased perfectly with this mix. Yeah, I hear the Zep influence here, but this one is all you, man. Just wow.

alright beagle, thanks for listening! you know, it's almost embarrassing how easy it was to track the guitars.. the hardest part is just being still, and not making chair noises (or OTHER) while the mic is so hot, but the mic pretty much hears the guitar exactly as it is, so as i always say, source, source, source.

thanks kevin, for the kind words. all of my influences, at this point in my life, are fairly distant... and i've gobbled them all up and fed my soul so long ago, that now it's not like any of them are direct anymore.... i've learned literally thousands of cover tunes during the time i played fulltime... and have been writing my own material for so long now, that i finally feel like i'm being as pure as i can be with coming up with stuff that does NOT sound like anything else. maybe similar, but not the same. and that's been my goal. and i appreciate the recognition of it, so thanks again!
