so zooming in on the picture showed, exander, transient shaper, compresser, EQ, not sure about the bottom row of knobs but this does look promising as an all in one plugin similar to the VC64 , one of the button seems to say colour as well but not sure what the other one says,

The graph on the right also seems to switch between all the functions to give you a visual representation of how each setting changes as you change it

Looks promising. Any chance of more info on this brandon (for the bits I can't see/read)? go on

      Looks great!

I wonder if it can be used while still recording, i.e. does it give latency like the Transient Shaper or the VC64?

I don't get the graphic for the sneak page.  Why are the screenshots larger than the cells behind them?  And, how on earth are people reading these things from the pix? When I zoom in all I see is blur.

Drop some full size pix on us yo!

That said, I'm a little puzzled by this one.  It's not a drum synth, but a processing chain? So why percussion, since it can be used on anything?

Sounds like a conglomeration of tools we already have in our arsenal, even with just Cake-branded plugz.  But hey, more is more.

I'm waiting for you to drop "ACT 2.0" or "Audiosnap 2.0" on me.  THAT will make me flip my wig.

It appears to be a channel strip intended for drums. I see a transient shaper, compressor, expander and equalizer.

The bottom line of labels is cropped out of the image, so it's impossible to determine what those additional seven knobs are for. What's missing that you'd expect to find on a drum channel strip? My guess would be distortion ("harmonic exciter").

Potentially a very cool addition, especially if you record real drums.

Thanks Brandon. I'm stoked this percussion strip is 64 bit.
I have a feeling one of the last features announced is going to be all 64bit plugins included.

I keep hearing that, but how can that be when CW says otherwise? Has anyone ever had an issue using the VC-64 in the 64-bit version?

VC64 is both 32 bit and 64 bit. It will install the proper version in a 64 bit OS that is it it will install the 64 bit version. It is my understanding all the 64 type plugins are all 64 bit if the OS is also 64 bit. They will process in 64 bits in a 32 bit OS as a 32 bit plugin as well. Just because they run in a 32 bit OS does not mean they are not also 64 bits in a 64 bit OS.

Also most of the Sonar plugins are 64 bit with the same proviso that it depends on the OS they are installed in.

Well I have Sonar 8 64 installed on Vista 64 and the VC-64 still opens up in a bitbridge wrapper.
If there is a 64 bit version why isnt Sonar finding it in the Plugin manager?
      Wheres the default location?

It won't find it because the VC-64 is NOT a native 64 bit plugin.  What it does is process audio in 64 bit resolution, but then outputs the results in 32 bit.  For a complete list of all the native 64 bit plugins that currently ship in Sonar 8 (plus other 3rd party vendors) go here:

I just checked in Windows 7 64 bit and it ran in Sonar 8 64 bit. It shows processing at 64 bits. This does not mean it is a full 64 bit plugin but its a strong indication that it is. The you tell what processing is going on is by the hash marks in the FX bin 1 = mono, 2 = stereo 32 bit, 4 = stereo at 64 bits.

      John,

The only way to tell if a plugin is truely native 64 bit is by openning it and looking at its title bar.  If you see the FXTelelport icon (it's a blue plug) found on the upper left corner (next to the plugin's name) in the plugin window, then it means it is being wrapped by Bitbridge.  You'll also notice a blue band with dotted lines below the title bar.  Native 64 bit plugins don't have these features and look exactly as they do in Sonar 32 bit.  Try it, and compare any of the Sonitus plugins with the VC-64 and you'll quickly see what I mean.

The VC-64 is NOT a native 64 bit plugin, trust me :-)  I've been using Sonar 64 practically since it came out.

By the way, Bit Meter only measures internal processing which is why it'll show you the full 64 bit resolution when inserting it after the VC-64.  Ironically, Bit Meter is also NOT native 64 bit :-D

      It is native x64.

Great! I'm looking forward to use this in my productions!

I hope you build it in “zero latency” this time and no extra buffer as Transient shaper has?
Transient shaper sounded great but was useless plugin because the whole system “SONAR”
gets in a overall high latency-state by just using the plugin? +10ms extra buffer, that's unexceptional for professional plugins!

The VC-64 isnt 64 bit currently.

I keep hearing that, but how can that be when CW says otherwise? Has anyone ever had an issue using the VC-64 in the 64-bit version?

Work, but latency compensate doesn't work correctly because it isn't a 64bit plugin!
