NI Komplete Kontrol setup for Daw functionality as MCU in Sonar X3 [Solved]

Hi all,

I bought myself the new NI Komplete Kontrol. But now I want to integrate the DAW functionllity for Sonar X3. As I read on NI homepage, it is possilble to integrate this by using MCU (Mackie Controll Universal).
http://www.native-instrum...trol-host-integration/
On NI there is no explanation to setup it for Sonar (Blame on NI to forget the best DAW).
So I do following things, but without any success.
After installing Drivers three new Midi Devices has appeared in my midi devices:
Komplete Kontrol
Komplete Kontrol -EXT
Komplete Kontrol -DAW ( I think this one is the right one, because I can play piano with Transport button after choose this one for Midi In)
Then I have open the Preference/Midi/Controller.
Then I created a new Controller setup for Mackie Control-1 and and choosed Komplete Kontrol DAW for MIdi In and out.
After Apply to the changes and closed the prefrence Dialog. The Mackie Kontrol -1 has appeared in the transport bar but there was only the message "connecting".
I also can Midi out activity on MIDI out when "Connecting" is on.
I try this for all other devices mention above but all of them are still showing "Connecting"
Did someone has Experience with setup Mackie Kontrol / MCU or Komplete Kontrol for Sonar??

Then please help me.
Thanks in advanced

BR, Herrmitesch

Okay I got the a solution found by myself.
For everyone how has the same problem, here are my solution:
I set up the a Controller Surface as VS-100. Then I choose Komplete Kontrol S -DAW 1 as input and as output.

Now everything is working fine, but I don't know why the creepy **** of Mackie Kontroll does not work

Have Fun

Ok. Thanks for this post. It fixed things up for me. But, with one annoying problem. For some reason, when I hit Play on the Kontroller it will toggle the first track's volume to maximum and then to 0. Meaning that every other push of the Play button turns the volume to full, and every other push toggles the volume to 0. It will not leave the first track's volume alone.

Any thoughts on this, anyone?

Setting this up has been like banging my head against a wall until I found this thread.

Transport seems to work OK and (for the moment at least) I do not see the track volume problem mentioned by Gary in post #4

Has anyone else got a KK keyboard working in Sonar and if so is this the best solution?

I did dig out a thread from the NI forums, but I think the people posting there may have been more confused than me.

You could use AZSlow's plugin. Then you could make it do pretty much whatever you want. If you're lucky he will help you set up a template. He's cool that way.

which version of Sonar ?
Check under preferences > Control surfaces > use the drop down menu to select the VS 100.
Make sure to check the box for the device in midi preferences.

Also note: I believe you have to install the VS 100 drivers.
FYI- this has nothing to do with Mackie Control / MCU.

Anyone have a suggestion on where to find/obtain the VS 100 drivers?

soens - great link!

I wonder if anyone can assist.  (I've been to the link).

It appears there is one download (for Windows) which is for use if you have the VS 100, and the instructions are to just plug in the VS 100.

There's a second Windows download option (for USB) for the VS 100.  I installed that with the Installer, but then it asked me to plug in the VS 100, which I don't have.  I quit out, but apparently it's installed. However, I couldn't find it in the Device Manager anywhere.  I did try to install it a second time, but received a dialog box message informing me that it was already installed.

I opened Sonar, and went to Preferences.  I thought maybe I might see it as a listing under the Controllers section.

I haven't used a Controller before (other than a keyboard to connect MIDI).  I imaigne I'm doing something wrong as a rookie on this.  Tips anyone?

But for me, my problem is: i don't have Komplete kontrol DAW in my list, its only Komplete kontrol 1 and Komplete kontrol ext 1.
A solution?

Are any of these solutions still working? Because I can not get it to work.
Just got the Komplete kontrol A61. (Preset list is empty.)
Here's how the dialogue box looks:
