NI KoreSound Browser Alternatives?
Hi, all.
Native Instruments has announced the EOL for Kore 2. For those not familiar with it, a critical feature is its KoreSound Browser that organizes patches from myriad soft synths into searchable categories and keywords (e.g., Strings > Bowed > Synthetic > Distorted). It has streamlined my workflow incredibly and I have come to rely upon it. And now, it's dead.
What are the alternatives in Sonar X1? Frankly, patch organization across synth plugins should really be a function of the host DAW, after all. Sonar X1's new Browser goes a long way towards organizing synths, effects and other components - I love it - but, to my knowledge, does not yet extend to the patch level; let alone provide a mechanism for keywording, ranking (1-5 stars) and searching through your piles of factory and customized patches.
Any patch-organization plug-ins out there? How 'bout an open XML standard for patch descriptors, allowing DAW vendors to implement the standard as they see fit while users tag and swap vintage factory patches online?
What are my options?
Any help is greatly appreciated.
