NI Rig Kontrol vs Motu Ultralite Mk3

Hi, I just bought a Rig Kontrol to my Guitar Rig 5. There is just one thing that annoys me. It is the sound. Is there something wrong with my box ore is the MOTU card so much better? The sound on the output is remarkably different in gain too.
So is my Rig Kontrol damaged or is it just not that good an audio card?

You may need to change some of your settings in audio. If you take a 1/4" output from control Rig into the MOTU card then you get the sound processing through the card to the speakers, but if you take usb from control Rig, then how are you monitoring it?  There is a chance you may be monitoring the sound through your cheap computer sound chip, instead of the MOTU. I would look at how it is set up in audio settings.

From the audio card I use USB to computer and from the used card to Genelec monitors. Because of ASIO I use one card at a time. I haven't touched the settings. The sound thing is both on input and output. Sounds more muddy on rig kontrol. A lot more too.
    It works fine as controller.

How can I use both card as ASIO cards? Or are WDM good enough?

If you are using ASIO and sending the usb out and monitoring through the MOTU I see no problems there. If you're using the Control Rig for everything..for both input and output then that's even better. WDM is generally not as good compared to ASIO for this type of application.

I wonder if there have been similar complaints on the unit from others. You might be getting a little more headroom if the MOTU is set to 24 bit and the Control Rig is set to 16bit. Maybe there are different ways to set up the Control rig as pertains to effects...does the control Rig default to some kind of factory settings that are different than the settings you have used? Good luck in finding the problems...maybe someone else will jump in with more suggestions.

Anyone else here using Control Rig?
