NI Session Horns

Hello all,
sorry for a newbie question, but:

Has anyone tried Native Instruments Session Horns with Sonar X3, please? Does it integrate well, any glitches, hints, please?

with best regards, MFAP

I've got the Session Horns while I'm still using X2.. done a few projects, working great, no problem at all.

While I have not done any new project yet with Session Horns on X3, I've got no problem running previous projects.

As for hints.. Session Horns will do an automated volume swell if you hit hard, and hold on a note (or chord stab).

Hey Albert, thanks for your reply! Did you input notes via midi keyboard or...?

Yes, midi notes are recorded via my Kawai MP8ii digital piano or Korg mini keys.

    Er..one more, maybe?
Downloaded both the Session Horns and the Kontakt player (and paid, yes). Installed both. In Sonar X3 I am pointing at the VST Settings to the folder of Session Horns...and somehow Session Horns does not appear in the list of VST instruments. Should it appear there, as I assume, please?

If I use the Kontakt player, yes, I can hear the sounds.

Albert, did you point at the Samples or the Instruments library, please?

Take that back - it is there, only named as Kontakt 5, sorry for confusion. Now, the next thing - how to get the midi keyboard play the bloody thing...I will sort that out, cheers!

Ok...well, one more: I can input sound via the midi keyboard. While I key in and record I can hear the sound.
But the playback does not play the sound?

All teh other VST instruments I have used need no other settings. What am I missing here, please?

Is it a MIDI controller or a MIDI keyboard which has it's own sounds?
If the latter, you may be hearing the sounds the keyboard makes while recording.
Set the output of the MIDI track you recorded on to the soft synth.

    Let's try the common way..

To record a soft synt track :

    Insert - Soft Synth - VST2 - Kontack

    check these
    - simple instrument track
    - synth track folder
    - enable midi output
    - synth property page
    - synth rack view

default checked (that i never change)
    - recall assignable controls
    - ask this every time :)

.. I hope this will get you back on track. Perhaps you were adding a midi track, then manually insert a vsti  in the FX ?
