If they would come out with a 76 key version, for $799, and the action suited me I would have no qualms about purchasing it if it were a quality keyboard. Like Glyn said, 61 keys don't quite cut it when you're trying to use key switching.

They do include After Touch which is getting hard to find on any midi keyboards unless you purchase a flagship model workstation. I will be following it and time will tell if it's a worthwhile addition or just another piece of proprietary plastic.

$199 for the K10 upgrade??? Not happening here...

Ya... They can stuff it with that $400 for a K10U update. No way I'm seeing $400 worth of interesting stuff in that over K9U. $100, sure I'd do that. Not $400 though. Particularly since they seem to be charging the same for an update no matter what version you come from. That being the case there's no reason not to wait until 11 or 12 that has something more I want.

I kinda like everything I'm seeing, both in K10 and the new controllers.   They're just both out of my price range at the moment vs. what I'd be getting in return.    If I had the cash though the key-switch lights are a pretty nifty addition, and the new pianos (at least from the demos) sound nice.   So do some of the synths and Session Horns.

Anyone got $1000 they don't need?

I checked out the K10 update and I think they actually removed a couple K9 items and put them in K10U. I must be losing it.

At any rate, it's not worth it for me to stay current. If I could jump to K10U from K9 for $249 that would feel right. I don't need anything more unless the price is a no-brainer type of deal. I Am a teur, after all.

NI has been having 50%-off sales every Black Friday, and upgrade sales at least once a year, so it may be worth waiting unless there's something here you just gotta have right now.

I must say, if that piano pack goes down to $100 for the set, I may grab it.  BF isn't that far away, is it?

I had not realized how expensive this update would be.  So I rechecked it and it is$399 for update from K9Ultimate or from K8Ultimate.  That is too much in my opinion.

If you own K9 and wait till BF...then it will be $99.50 for the update and you'll get the pianos
and all the new stuff...that's my plan...if I can, I'll make the leap to Ultimate, but at the bare
minimum make the jump to K10....

for those that think that Komplete 10 Ultimate upgrade of $399 is to high a price consider what you get (only new items to 10U are listed).  If you bought Action strikes and Session Horns Pro (which I was going to) then the upgrade pays for itself and ya get other cool toys.

Abby Road 50s Drummer $99.00
Action Strikes $299.00
Discovery Series Cuba $99.00
Drumlab $99.00
Kinetic Metal $99.00
Kontour $99.00
Molekular $149.00
Polyplex $69.00
Rise & Hit $149.00
Rounds (new) $99.00
Session Horns Pro $299.00
Supercharger GT $99.00
The Gentleman (new) $99.00
The Graneur (new) $99.00
The Maverick (new) $99.00
Vari Comp $99.00
TOTAL PRICE  $2,054.00.

I think $399 is VERY reasonable considering what ya get.

Well, when you put it like that, it's definitely more than reasonable.......but, I'm looking for even a better deal than that $399 upgrade price.......and I'm willing wait until BF.
If there wasn't going to be a better deal than the $399 pricetag, then the savings plan may take a bit longer......either way, I just won't resist.

Generally NI do not put the Komplete packages on sale within 6 months of release.

Last BF NI only put some Kontakt products at 50% off.

but whatever - NI will eventually put the Komplete products and upgrades on sale at some point and it will be cheaper.

me - I probably won't hold out that long as I want some of the products in K10U sooner rather than later.

Mesh that $399 price is for users of K9 Ultimate...not K9....

For those of us who own K9 it will be at the bare minimum $499, and maybe $699...which
completely leaves me out...

The upgrade from K9 to K10 is $199...and that's too much for me...so...wait for a sale..as always...LOL

Well two things about that argument:

1) NI deliberately overprices their individual stuff to make it look like you are getting a better deal. They want to push people towards their bundles. They aren't expecting to sell many of these things for their supposed list price. Like Supercharger GT, I'd be amazed if they got more than a couple sales of that ever, it is just not a very interesting compressor for that kind of money.

2) Just because you "get" stuff doesn't mean you care. Like I do not care at all about 50s drummer, drumlab, action strikes, kinetic metal, session horns pro, and supercharger gt. I mean I wouldn't even bother to install them, just not the kind of things I use (session horns pro would potentially be, but I have session horns and don't care for it). Much of the rest I'm very "meh" about. I'd play with it, but it doesn't seem like it is that interesting. Like the synths. I'd try them, but I have serious doubts I'd use them over synthmaster.

Hence, not worth $400 in my opinion, and given it's my $400, my opinion is the one that matters. It needs to be cheaper or I'm going to pass. Particularly in light of the fact that the upgrade is the same price, no matter what version you come from. The K10 upgrade is the same price if you are upgrading from K2 or K9. The K10U is the same price from K8U or K9U. That means that, in all probability, K11U will be the same price coming from K9U as K10U. So there's no incentive to upgrade now since nothing interests me that much. Just wait till the next version and save money.

for you then I could see why upgrading Komplete would not be worth it.

As someone that uses Kontakt libraries all the time getting new packs and sounds I will use at a decent price point as an upgrade seems like a deal to me.
