NI's Maschine Packs--Worth buying if you don't have Maschine?

The title has the question in it.

I've got one of the $25 vouchers and I was wondering if the content in the Maschine packs is usable even if you don't own the Maschine software.  I know the synth presets should be fine.  Are the drum hits in .wav files or some other usable format?

yes they are wav samples, my grey forge library shows 457 files in 28 folders 164 mb. kits and stuff in other folders outside of this count obviously you cannot use at this time, but then you never know when you might look at maschine as a interesting addition to delve into. I let 3 vouchers expire before I picked up maschine for myself- and from what I gather those expansion packs never go on sale.

You mention you don't have Maschine software. Are you aware that Maschine is hardware. The software just allows you to connect it's into your DAW like a VST and edit from your computer.

Yes, I know.  The packs come with some presets to use in the Maschine software (for the drum synths for example).  My concern is that all of the content might be in presets that are only openable by the software...which would make the Maschine packs unusable for me at this time.

It's nice to know that they come with the separate .wav files as well for some of the content.

So they are not packed in a proprietary format a la Reason Refills?

an app downloaded an iso file that unpacked and became my grey forge library-now all the files in my samples folder are wav, I have a bunch of ni sound files in another folder called "sounds". It MAY Be that without maschine you cant purchase/dl/unpack the maschine extension pack you want- I cant say because I have Maschine. So I am trying to provide you with what I do know- but I cannot guarantee you wont have problems. The wav files by themselves arent worth much imho- so, basically I am saying if you think there is a possibility you will get maschine in the future, you could be saving yourself some money by using your voucher before it expires. I understand that for some, money does not grow on trees,  so you have to use your best judgement with this info.

I'm still contemplating.  I might just use the voucher to upgrade my Supercharger license to the GT version.

I have Maschine's Mikro 2 and these packs do work flawlessly in them. It's like having a 'musical' drum pad, but I also haven't used these packs outside of Maschine.

Are you planning on getting Maschine? (it certainly is a beast with enormous capabilities).

I've considered getting the Mikro version, but realistically, I don't see me getting it in the near future unless some incredible deal comes along.
