NO sound at first start, ever

Hi.
I have used CWS X1LE for a year or so. There were almost 0 problems.

But I has started doing something disgusting. At first there is no sound. After some waiting, starts playing without sound. Like working ok, but without sound.

The only way I found to force things to work is to open the preferences menu and apply, WITHOUT changing anything.

And then it sounds ok again! Funny?

Another issue is the metronome ticks taking output straight to ASIO driver, at FULL volume. I change it, put to metronome bus. But  the next time I start CW it's all the same: no sound and once the sound is working, the metronome ticking at full volume.

Do you have your soundcard (audio interface) switched on when you start your PC? I assume you have one, because you mention ASIO drivers, and the integrated mobo soundchips don't support ASIO.
Basicly, the integrated chips (if you're using one) can be very problematic.

SONAR PE 8.5.3, Asus P5B, 2,4 Ghz Dual Core, 4 Gb RAM, GF 7300, EMU 1820, Bluetube Pre  -  Kontakt4, Ozone, Addictive Drums, PSP Mixpack2, Melda Creative Pack, Melodyne Plugin etc.
The benefit of being a middle aged amateur is the low number of years of frustration ahead of you.

    Thanks.

The fact is that everyting has been working fine up to date. I didn't change any hardware or options.

Until now, I am using as main output an old USB Microsoft Sound System 80 (MSSS80) that sounds quite good (in its level). It is always connected and on. I take a lot of care to avoid windows using them. For default windows output it is defined the inboard Realtek. It is the only thing I needed to be careful. Otherwise the ASIO will find occupied the MSSS80.

In a few days I am to receive a Steinberg UR44 and Yamahas HS7. But I fear that nothing will change with the new items. I think it is an issue with Sonar.

Any chance you are using ASIO4ALL? I have had it behave this way for me.  Seems there are some issues when exclusive modes that are incompatible are set up.
