I think this WIP piece is a nice start, keep it going :)

Thanks Julian

I've got to wrack my brain and think where it's off too next

There was nothing I heard that required an apology.  On the contrary, it sounded quite promising.  Keep working on it.  Guitars and synths sound cool together.

Thanks for the encouraging words Phil

Hi,
Good start, leave melodyne where it is and light the fire with your guitars ,you got no problems to reach that point.
Cheers,
Olivier.

Just to echo previous comments - you have absolutely nothing to apologize for.     Heck, I imagine you'll have more work to do polishing the clean rhythm tone so it really sparkles than you will with your playing.  If you wrote nothing but "here's a new tune featuring guitar" the response probably would have been along the lines of "nice playing".

Now get back to work, will ya?

Andy - this is really cool!  I am a firm believer in continuing to learn and broaden and hone skills.  in music, in anything.  don't ever let anyone tell you that you're not any good at something - just keep at it!  you're doing great!

I have an acoustic at home that I haven't learned how to play (I'm a keyboard hack and semi-volcalist).  I've played around with it but never committed the time.  this might be a good prompt for me to do that!

this song is way too short!  let's get some more meat in there!  continue on!

Wonderful start to a good thing.
Many good suggestions already on this track....I play electric much less than acoustics, so I'm no authority on electric guitar recording for sure but I do agree with the comments to make it a little less dark. I think you do well on the guitar! I like the idea to double track and bring the guitar out more.
I have a few suggestions that are only suggestions and are my OP only since there are probably many ways to approach a new creation....I might intersperse the guitar with a synth or another guitar tone..they could play off one another. Just a thought. What I mean is, take the guitar out completely in places and add something else in there playing a counter melody or a similar melody. This keeps the listener more intent because periodically something different is playing which adds interest...once again just MYOP. I also think the bass might be just a bit short ..IOW not holing out for a long enough duration. i like what you have done with the drums so far!

Doing a bit of real life juggling at the moment, and I tend to drop stuff that I'm not sure about and pick up again a bit later... It sometimes helps with my creative "problems" LOL.

Hiya Reece . Thanks for popping in for a listen to my "work in progress." I'm hoping to drag this out a lot longer than two minutes... Probably more like eight ...

I will think much on your suggestions, and thanks for that... The main reason for posting this "tune" was to find out if peeps thought I'd be on the right track, because all of my music so far has been synthesiser based. The response was unexpected, in a good way...

Thanks again everyone for your time and help... I've got a big stupid grin on my face as I type

Synkrotron,
Very cool guitar tune idea, definitely worth developing further but fun as it is too.  I like the synths you used and all sat really well on my speakers.  Nice stuff!
