SORRY! Forum won't let me add the link to soundcloud, also will not let me delete this Post.
 Any suggestions?

The forum is set up so you need 25 posts before you can post a link (it's to dissaude spammers, not a 'rule' for the Songs forum to make you listen and comment on other people's songs first, as some will tell you). I'm guessing if you post again you should be able to edit the original post and insert your link.

    Hi James

Thanks for your reply.  I've tried editing quite a few times now and unfortunately the Forum is still not letting me download the link to 'SoundCloud'.  I don't know why as I've successfully done this before.
    Thanks for your help anyway.

    Not sure what you mean by 'download' the link. Just copy it from your browser and paste it, like this;

In any forum the world over you will always hear a discussion of analogue vs. digital. I don't know where on the fence you sit, or if you've even built a fence, but after a couple of listens to your song I really wanted to hear some analogue sounds or effects. It felt a little too crisp, too clean, too surgical. I'm not sure where any analogue should go, but I did think the choruses worked well, so maybe over the verses. I think maybe your vocals would sit better in the mix (which is first rate by the way) if they weren't quite so clinical.
    Nice song.

    Hi James
Sorry regarding my terminology, I was doing exactly as you did (copy & paste).  Just a glitch I guess. Thanks anyway for your help. PS Enjoyed listening to your  'The Weirdstone of Brisingamen'. Good work and look forward to hearing more.

    Hi Rebel1007
Thanks for listening, appreciate your constructive comments.  I was trying to keep the spoken words clear and crisp, so that they weren't clouded by the music (poem with musical accompaniment).  Sorry, I've never given much thought to analogue verses digital but you given me something to think about on my next project.  Thanks again for listening.

This is first rate satire regardless of one's point of view.  I enjoyed the clean, clear production, but that's a matter of taste.  The lyrics are thought provoking, to say the least.  Well done.

    All the best,

    Hi Lynn
Thanks for taking the time to listen and commenting. Satire sure is a good word to describe the song in this mad world.
    Best wishes

Welcome to the world of Nanny States, Britain does not stand alone, The US is following suit and so congress and the states attorney generals are suing them for their defamation of character of the people. Your song is very well done, vocals are right on the money and one heck of a mix to boot!! Very nicely done.

    Peace and Blessings,John

PS, By the way, try and get a good nights sleep, it will be the same tomorrow and be worst next year. I learned all this 45 years ago in a socially class. It's about population growth and the government needs control so they can pay people to stay home and we all get to pay for it. Enjoy!!

I appreciate the clean mix. These old ears need all the help they can get these days.

"Right on" with the lyrics.  Will we wake up before it's too late?  It takes a village to raise a child.... it's just that they have redefined the meaning of "village"

    Hi
John - theguitarplayer, thanks for your kind words, your correct in saying that the Nanny State is not just a UK problem. I was in Canada & the USA this last summer and saw plenty of examples of it there.  Don't worry, I sleep like a log!

Brother Walt @ Waltenstein Studios, thanks your comment made me smile!! Loved your 'Cerulean Sojourn (feat. Clint Martin) by the way.

    chasmcg, Thanks for listening.

Herb the Guitarhacker, thanks for listening and sure enough the village has change a lot in my time too.

    Have a good weekend guys.

    I dig everything about this!

Yeah, it's techno, which isn't me, some of those songs assault my ears from start to end.  But this has a perfect blend of interesting musical parts and phrases.  It's so well done I just enjoyed the song.  Only now am I thinking on the techno aspect.

Your message came through loud and clear.  Excellent song.

Thanks 'olemon'  I don't know what genre one would put the song in, I just start with an idea and see what I end up with.

    Welcome Alan,
I couldn't agree more. Except the term Nanny implies caring. I'm pretty sure that's not the case.
