Thanks S-handsome1.....I've been wanting to get K9 for some time and at $199 (crossgrade), this is a good deal. The problem is I have a quite few instruments of K9 which I've purchased individually (as downloads), and I don't think I can sell them. Of course, I don't see why they should be refusing a re-sale???? I just emailed NI asking abou this......

Problem#2 is I've been saving my pennies for Maschine's Mikro2 (which is not part of this sale).....any advice?

Thanks for posting ... I hadn't received an e-mail from them yet.  Looks like the usual 50%-off on most stuff.  Always pays to wait for these sales from NI.  They generally do them twice a year.

Olpal, you might want to give that new Battery a good look before upgrading.  Not everyone loves it.  Some have reverted to Battery 3.

Some have complained about Battery 4's GUI and its quirks.  It looks cool, but takes some getting used to.  Good idea to try it out for yourself if possible before upgrading.

Problem no 1: Most likely because those instruments that you bought are the reason why you are eligible to a crossgrade. So just like you can't sell Sonar 2 after you upgrade to 3, NI won't let you resell those. My guess.

I'm very tempted to do the upgrade myself too.

From the little I've read, it seems that if you buy a "boxed" NI product, you're allowed to resale. Not so with the downloadble products. Except for Battery 3, all the other stuff I bought were downloadble......I'll wait and see what NI says (I specifically gave them the list of products I wish to sell). Worst case scenario, I'll keep them and install it on a 2nd computer for my little ones to use.

My understanding is that as long as you keep at least one item that makes you eligible for the crossgrade, you should be free to sell extra licenses.  Good idea to check with NI beforehand, anyway.

been patiently waiting for an decently priced and packed Ultimate version since my 2010 K6 purchase. K9U at 325 is a steal - definitely not waiting for a hefty K10U purchase.

Download products can be sold.  Contact NI to release the serials.  I've bought/sold probably 10 download NI items through the years (including a few items about two months ago).

You do have to keep the item you used to get the Crossgrade (as you would expect).

I can't imagine why anyone's complained about Battery 4. I was dubious about making the switch when I bought Komplete 9, but I'm really glad I did now. I would never knowingly load Battery 3 in a project now that I have Battery 4. It's so slick and intuitive, and looks fantastic as well. Going back to an old project with Battery 3 in it tonight, my first thought was "yuk"....

I've been watching some videos on B4 and have come to the same conclusion Sharke, ol pal. Think I'll take the plunge. I'll let ya know if Eddie was right about any problems but it looks like it might change something I never use ( B3) into something I do (B4).

I was reading somewhere - who knows if it's true- that Battery 4 doesn't include acoustic samples that it once used to, due to the offerings of their other acoustic drums libraries. Don't know about anybody else but I have no use for any electronic bleeps and blorps. I use Batteries' acoustic drums exclusively though. Great software and excellent processing. Wish they would have developed a full on mixer and a better eq GUI.

Looks to me as I'll just wait on K10U as I already own most of what is in K9U having owned K8U and then added:
    The Giant
    Action Strings
    Session Strings Pro
    Session Horns
    Abbey Road Vintage Drums

    So, I don't have:
    Monark
    Skanner XT
    Damage
    Evolve
    RC 48
    RC 24
    Vari Comp
    Vari EQ
    Driver
    Battery 4
Scarbee Rickenbacker (which I cover with Orange Tree Samples, or my Line 6 Variax Bass)

None of which I have any great desire to get.

BTW, McQ. I did get a hard drive with my K8U so I'm covered there.

This is true but the old B3 kits will work just fine in B4.

I got a reply from NI: "Registrations from our software products can be easily sold and transferred to
another user after contacting our registration support"

This is good news as far as upgrading to K9 goes, but I've been eyeing Maschine's Mikro2......ughhh....decisions....

I also figured this would happen as at 50% off, a lot of people should be buying.......I'll just patiently wait until the buying frenzy dies off and then put it up for sale.
I bought K9 directly from NI (first time I'm getting a boxed version) and I hope their shipping system is good....

A Question re Action Strings - has anyone got this and is it useful / any good - like quite a few people I have Komplete 9 and I don't think there's anything in Ultimate that I want (I actually already have some of the packages in Ultimate, like evolve which I've had for years)
    Thanks

The other instrument that would be noteworthy in ultimate is Session Strings Pro...

There's a whole lot more in Ultimate from K9....it's still the best bang for the buck if
you're looking to even buy one of the included instruments...

Hey, Nigel... I got it last year after watching Daniel James 1 hour deep review... You NEED to watch it!  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a4LoB5ieUxY&feature=kp

It's pretty cool.  I just bit on Session Strings Pro... I love the Animator and 48 gigs of nice strings for $99 is just too good to pass up!

I got Action strings at a 50% off sale... but the deal on SSpro, $99/ regularly $299 is truly awesome.
BTW, I also have all Kirk Hunter, including spotlight and his cool rhythm generators, Albion Iceni, and EW platnum...

I like the riff generators a lot... Does things I can't do... Albion's "ostinatums" are really elaborate riffs but their selection system is cludgy

A Question re Action Strings - has anyone got this and is it useful / any good - like quite a few people I have Komplete 9 and I don't think there's anything in Ultimate that I want (I actually already have some of the packages in Ultimate, like evolve which I've had for years)
    Thanks

Hey, Nigel... I got it last year after watching Daniel James 1 hour deep review... You NEED to watch it!  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a4LoB5ieUxY&feature=kp

It's pretty cool.  I just bit on Session Strings Pro... I love the Animator and 48 gigs of nice strings for $99 is just too good to pass up!

I'm trying to decide about getting Session Strings Pro.  Any thoughts after playing them?

I needed to upgrade my guitar rig to version 5. The scarbee bass looks pretty good in K9. These and the additional pianos, strings make it a go for me.....even though I already had Reaktor,K5, Studio drummer etc.

It's on the way. I think the K5 layout will be a real asset , especially at 199.00

Yeah, and don't forget the Giant!!! I'm very excited to get Komplete 9....I've been buying a lot of piece-meal stuff over the years and now, finally was able to get K9 at a good price........to be delivered on the 30th. If I had the extra money, I would've love to get Session Strings Pro (or even upgrade to Ultimate)....but, I'm sure I'll be quite content with what K9 has to offer.
