I was thinking of getting CamelSpace until the Mouth came out... I like the ease of experimenting with anything thrown into these plugs and from a creative perspective, they both seem interesting in their own way. I'm hoping the free Reaktor player won't be a hassel to setup/use and have any limitations from NI. I like plug & play. Although the Mouth is new, what do you guys think would be a better choice (feature-wise)? (I know it's an open ended question....but, I value your opinion(s))

CamelSpace and The Mouth are like a fish and a bicycle. CamelSpace is crazy good at what it does but it's not really a vocoder type thing. The Mouth looks fun, cheap and cool. I'd suggest you take a look at Sonivox's Vocalizer. It's like The Mouth on steroids. You can find it for around $99. I've got it and it's a hoot.

You can already do a lot of that stuff using Kontakt's tone machine mode.

Hi Mesh I recently upgraded to Komplete 7 and once I had registered it, they gave me a voucher for $60 - so I went and purchased the Mouth. Only just downloaded it and started to play with it, but it seems an absolute hoot! I think it's going to be great for creating some strange and wonderful beats and sounds, but for $19 I suppose I shouldn't even worry if it only turns out to be something to keep me amused!!. And the video was hilarious. Nigel

I visited SoniVox's website, the vocalizer looks very interesting and so too are their other products; the 88-(Piano) has also caught my interest. But seriously I HATE Native Instruments website, when I play the videos the playback stutters then I have trouble switching to lo-res mode, in fact when trying to navigate around NI's website it freezes and I have to ctrl+alt+delete. Never going to NI's website again. :( -

Yea, if Vocalizer can make those two lame-brains sound interesting...imagine what it can do for your music ;-)

yorolpal Yea, if Vocalizer can make those two lame-brains sound interesting...imagine what it can do for your music ;-) Ol Pal now that you've had time to doodle around, what's your impression on the vocalizer? My dillema is between Sonar X1, CamelSpace, Vocalizer or the Mouth...or something else that I can throw in any sound at and get a cool rhythm texture to add/inspire the creative process.

Gee Mesh, ol pal, that's a toughie. First X1 is determinant of your entire workflow and has so many internal instruments and effects I don't think it can be considered with the others...either you need (or want) to upgrade to it or not. Of the rest CamelSpace while extremely good (it's one of my very faves) has always seemed to me more of a "delay" type effect. Between Vocalizer and what I've seen of The Mouth...I'd go with Vocalizer. It has more control and will accept ANY audio source as a useful input for mangling, arpeggiating, vocoding and such. HTH.

For those who own "The Mouth", what is the verdict?
