Need Audio Interface for Recording my band

Hi I am new to recording and my band recently got interested in recording our music at home so that we can distribute it without having to pay for expensive studio time. I just purchased Sonar Home Studio 7 and am running it on a windows 7 computer. I was originally planning to record the whole band with USB mics but I was told that they don't work well with sonar and to get an audio interface.

I need an interface that will allow me to record 2 mics on guitars, 2 mics on drums, and 1 line in from a bass all on separate and simultaneous tracks in sonar. The inputs for the mics and line ins can be either XLR or 1/4" because I have adapters which will allow me to plug XLR into 1/4" and vis versa. I am still new to recording so I don't know if I need pre-amps or anything so if you could steer me in the right direction that would be great too.

Can anyone recommend an interface that will allow me to do this for under or close to $150?

Thanks and I really appreciate it if you can help.

Not for $150 new. You might need to look on e-bay for a used one.  A good device for your setup would be the M-Audio Fast Track Ultra or Ultra R8.  But they are more then $150.

You can get a decent stereo i/o for $150.  Not an 8x8 (which is usually how ins multiply).  You might find one, as Ohhey sez, used.  You can get a behringer 8x8  ADAT A/D w/ preamps for about that, but you still need an interface w/ ADAT.  You're going to have to get lucky on the used front or come up w/ some more money.  More like $500.  Sorry.

    Jason,

that device will only give you stereo in to your PC. Two tracks, left/right.

The OP said he wants Separate Tracks for all 8 tracks. Still can't do for under 150.......

Sonar, Les Paul Studio, FTU, puter, plugs.........
