Need Help Practicing AND Recordind

I  just got Home Studio XL 7. i am "tring" to record  my bass ( anolog) and dont know how to get it into a track. What I am trying to do is play/record  along a ted nuget track. Can  someone help? I get sound but its mixed up with cd track.

    If you're getting the backing tracks recorded along with your bass, you've probably got a "what u hear" option checked in your Windows mixer.  Remove that option and you'll likely be fine.
    You'd be best to list what PC and soundcard you've got, and the route your audio takes to get from the bass to HS7.
