Need Help With Axiom 25 Keyboard Tuning

Suddenly, from out of the blue, my M-Audio Axiom 25 keyboard is playing soft-synths out of tune and I'm at a loss.  Years ago, I knew how to coarse-tune and fine-tune this keyboard but it now alludes me, so, does anyone here know how to tune it?  The MIDI messages for coarse and fine tuning are 129 and 130...but I forget now how to go about inputting those numbers so I can control the tuning.  Your assistance is most appreciated.  Thanks!

I think it's more likely the keyboard needs to be reset than tuned.

I couldn't find any instructions on how to reset (other than switch it on and off), but I suggest following this:

    Caution:
Electro Static Discharge, Electrical Fast Transient and Conducted RF interference may cause the unit malfunctioning. In such
case, unplug the unit and plug it in again to restore normal operation.

Thanks, friends, for responding.  I've been through the manual but it's not clear to me how to tune the keyboard.  As for turning it off and on...well, it's a USB powered unit and I've tried the instructions for resetting it back to factory spec but that didn't change anything.
I'm hoping to find an Axiom user who knows how to input the MIDI messages 129 and 130 so I can control the tuning.  I would think that anyone who has worked with MIDI messages could help with this problem.  I'm simply not a MIDI expert, even though I have been able to adjust tuning in the past, and would like to know how to proceed with assigning 129 and 130 to a couple of rotary knobs.  Any Axiom users out there?

Not an Axiom, but I have an original Oxygen 8. It's been randomly, and now full-time, playing synths out of tune.

I opened MIDI-Ox http://www.midiox.com/ and I can see that this keyboard is streaming pitch bend. Apparently this is a problem with M-Audio keyboards after a while, and they can't be re-set. Any repair would cost as much as a new keyboard.

In SONAR, Edit/Preferences/MIDI/Playback and Recording uncheck pitch wheel to see if that stops your problem.

Of course, you won't be able to use the pitch wheel when you want....

overdubI knew how to coarse-tune and fine-tune this keyboard

It's worth noting that you don't tune the Axiom. If you assign coarse- and fine-tuning to controls on the Axiom, they don't affect the Axiom itself, they control the tuning on the target MIDI device, if it supports tuning.

I recommend you start a new project and record playing a few notes. Look in the Event View and make sure only note events were recorded. If anything else is recorded then there may well be a misconfiguration or your Axiom might be faulty.

overdubI'm hoping to find an Axiom user who knows how to input the MIDI messages 129 and 130 so I can control the tuning.

I own an Axiom 25 too and I would be happy to help you configure your Axiom to send those messages. I just wanted to point out that that will almost certainly not help.

If you use the virtual keyboard built into Sonar, do you hear the same problem from the synths?

    Cheers

As said, if you are using soft synths, it is they that are "out of tune", not the keyboard. On the other hand, a worn out or flaky pitch bend wheel on the keyboard could cause target synths to play off pitch.

The free MIDI-OX is the best utility that I have found for quickly determining in real-time what the MIDI notes and controller messages are being transmitted from my keyboard.  Priceless!
