Need To Say
Hello, I am looking for feedback on what would make this song/arrangement stronger. We are currently re-recording all of our songs and I thought this would be a good opportunity to get feedback, thank you so much! https://soundcloud.com/st.blingfree/02-need-to-say

Well, the recording is a mess and the mix isn't even a mix, and there are bad notes and guitars out of tune all over the place...but the song is great. A little Modern English mixed with a grungy sound. @:49 I would add another big distorted guitar right before you get to the chorus to add some tension. @1:40 for the second prechorus add a guitar underneath doing a repeated 16th note chiming through. @ the middle eight @2:05 needs something to alert the listener that the chorus is over and this is something different. @2:55 bring back the snare and start hitting more cymbals...going just kick and hats for the last 50 seconds is probably not a good idea

I agree this mix needs some cleaning up. Also agree with the added guitar at 1:40. I also agree that it is a great song. You have a lot of creativity and imagination. When this song ended it went to Kerouac's Song, Then Memory which are also fabulous. From what I have heard so far, I think you have some serious potential. Outstanding songs. I feel privileged to hear these.

You got some great advice here from a well respected member of the forum. The song is good enough to go all the way with a stellar mix. You're really quite close already. I liked this song enough to listen twice, and I'll be back for more.

Bob, Really good song. Listened twice.... I think you have already received some good advice on the mix. Certainly a keeper and worth some additional time to mix it better. Regards
