Need a "lo fi" effect - Any suggestions?

I'm trying to acheive an "old" sound like the song was played on an old record player - or with a narrow frequency band - or like it was recorded with ancient equipment.  Are there any good effects to acheive something like that?

Izotope Vinyl is a free VST that can do this very well. You can select the year and how much record wear is present. It can also introduce dust and other noise but you dont have to use those you can just use the lo fi effects.

I had to use it recently for a similar thing. It works fine in Sonar too.

More of the same (or similar) here: http://spyro.mediashift.net/klanglabs/

Check out Milly Vinylli, doesn't even 'cost' a registration
