Need car horn synth sounds

doing a song with car beeps/honks... I have the X2 synths and z3ta+2, but it's a lot of sounds to go thru... I went thru z3ta but nothing strikes me there.  anyone know offhand of a good synth patch for beeps?

I have worked on some video soundtracks for clients. You can find tons of free car horn samples on the web. Just launch a search for free car horn sounds or samples. Download the ones you like and just place them in a track where you need them. If you have Kontakt or a sampler that will load the files format like sfz for DimPro you could just load the sample into DimPro and trigger it. I have a vast collection of horns, door slams, cranking up, cutting off, racing by, shifting gears, etc. All sitting in a folder.

Sonar Platinum, Sonar X3e, Sonar X2a , Sonar X1 Expanded and 8.5.3 (32 and 64 bit), Windows 10 on a Toshiba P75-A7200 Laptop with i7 @ 2.4 quad and 8 gigs of RAM and secondary WD 1 Tb drive, Windows 10 desktop, Asus i5 @ 3.2 quad, 12 gigs RAM, 1 Tb drive, 1 500 gig drive, MOTU 24io, 2 Roland Studio Captures, Saffire 6 USB for laptop, Soundtracs Topaz Project 8 mixer, Alesis Monitor 2s, Event BAS 20/20s, Roland Micro-Monitor BA-8s, and 45 years worth of collecting FX, Mics, Amps, Guitars, and Keyboards!

i agree with sidroe.  there are lots of sources for horn sounds.  If you drop them into dim pro or even dropzone, you can tweak it to your liking.  here is just one sample of a source: http://www.partnersinrhym...undfx/carsoundfx.shtml

I'm no synth programming wiz, but i suspect a car horn would not be that difficult to pull off.  Maybe i will make that my weekend project

If you want to make your own and have a portable recorder simply record and have someone honk, or "mash the horn". Take the recording and load it into almost any decent software sampler.Better yet, if you don't own a sampler and only need a honk or two at the same pitch leave out the sampler altogether.

If you have Reaktor, I highly recommend:

    http://www.kvraudio.com/news/weirdingmodule-releases-danger-for-reaktor-and-kontakt-19989

It has a good car horn synthesized along with lots of other warning sounds (like the old Star Trek 'red alert') - all FM synthesized.

I wonder if these work on the free versions of reaktor and kontakt?  In any case, i think it includes the wav files

I don't know, I have Komplete 7, not sure what does and doesn't work in the players.
There are wave files for Kontakt included so you could load these in other synths/samplers.

i just downloaded.  they won't work in the free versions, but the Kontakt wav files load up just fine in various Sonar synths.  I put the "car alarm" wav in drop zone and pressed a key.  instant horn with no tweaking.

thanks... i was looking for synth horn sounds from any of the cakewalk synths or other synth like synth1.  I have a Zoom H2 and can get some real sounds if I need to... just like the synth sound I've heard before.

I found a suitable sound in the Synth 1 vst.  If you want to hear the latest work in progress.

I realize Justice samples frequently- if that is the case here, if someone could give me a run down of making synthesized brass sounds it would appreciated.

Maarkr:   I use synth produced car horn sounds in my music sometimes.  It would be musically abstract and not the sound of a actual car horn and so it depends on how you play it.  I take a synth like harmor [or whatever you prefer] preset to a basic sound with a slight oscillation and not too sawy. Pad it with another synth capable of producing a mild detune offset.  I use Novakill's free NitrousPM for that.  Generally, a "C" + "E" chord[next one up from middle c] will give the right effect.  It works for me but it may not be the same as what works for your music.  Still, I think producing a certain kind of detuned sound in a pad with another synth is the general idea.
