Need help/suggestions with bass issue

Guitar and bass are doing the same rock riff. The higher bass notes are poking through just fine but the lower notes practically vanish.

How do I get the lower notes to cut through more without making the high notes too bright?

    You could try a couple of things...

    1. Send the bass track to a bus with a low pass EQ (so the higher frequencies are filtered out) and add a distortion plugin (I suggest the free CamelPhatFree plugin). Now adjust the send on the original bass track to taste

    2. Put a high pass EQ filter on the other gtr track and roll off some of the bass frequencies (to give your bass track more room
