Need off-the-shelf help please!

I am soon upgrading from Sonar 5PE to 8PE. I have a Dell Optiplex 755 w/ 2GB - no idea about specifics.

I know I will be upgrading the PC when I buy S8PE, but to what? I am not a computer person - it's like buying a hammer.

What would be the best off-the-shelf PC for me to get?

Typical song - 20 MIDI tracks with 5-6 soft synths, 20 tracks audio, with effects

Current PC overloads when I really push it - gotta freeze tracks once in a while to work on other tracks - I'm sure you know the ndrill.

Thanks for any advice you may have to offer.

Landon

Get a quad core cpu pc. Get at least 2 7200RPm sata or esata hard drives and at least 4 gigs of ram. A sound card and its drivers play an important role in pc performance also.
