Need recommendations for midi patchbay that plays well with Sonar X1c

After several years my Midiman Midisport 8x8 has bit the dust. I can't even get it to work in omni mode and it is just not worth trying to figure out if it is worth salvaging since it does not play with Windows 7 64 bit anyway. Yes, it was an original blue and green meanie and I already did the EPROM upgrade long ago so that won't help at this point sadly. I was never really happy with the quality of the product either way.

I would love a recommendation for a nice midi patchbay with the following ideal characteristics:
8 ports in/out
USB (2.0 ideally)
configurable patchbay routing and midi merge functionality
Plays well with Sonar X1c

If it had a SMPTE interface that would be icing but not truly necessary. Even better would be midi->CV conversion (haha who am I kidding!!!)  I was looking into getting a used MOTU Midi Timepiece A/V USB on eBay or elsewhere but would rather have something that I know is getting some support. MOTU just released new drivers for this legacy hardware but even so something more up to date might be better. I just don't know, though.

Your collective wisdom on this is greatly appreciated!

Seems like a good start but this doesn't run Clockworks software. Any experience with the Midi Express 128 XT with USB? That seems like it might fit the bill better but I have no direct knowledge of how well it would work.

I was just having a discussion last week with another Express XT user who was having problems with MIDI "dropouts" to external hardware. I was unable to reproduce the problem with mine, and it seems to work as well as ever, but as I commented in that thread, I haven't used it "in anger" for a long time.

In fact, I didn't even have it connected any more. The two pairs of ports on my E-MU 1820m are enough for my current setup, and the PCI interface is faster than USB, reducing overall latency. But the XT should still be quite serviceable, and the new drivers and Clockworks interface are looking good in Win7 x64.
