Need some UK insights.....
The Lovely Lady and I want to return to The UK. We loved the weather in September. If we were to return in September 2012 it would need to be the week after the Olympics. The Lovely Lady is concerned that London would still be far too crowded and that (maybe) hotel prices would still be in the price gouging stage. Your thoughts?

I'd leave it at least a clear week as some will be staying on and making a 'holiday' out of it. It won't take long for the hubbub to die down though.

the Olympics finish Aug 12th. The Paralympics are on until Sep 9, however, though i don't know what they will do to hotel room availability...

Now I see the actual Olympics end on 12 Aug. It's the Paralympics that end on 9 Sept. With no disrespect, is this as large of an event as the Olympics?

Maybe consider other parts of the UK? Scotlands well worth a visit, and will most likely be relatively 'Olympics Free'. Edinburghs a stunning city, and Glasgow has lots of cultural thingies.

This next trip will be longer as we do plan on seeing Paris for at least 2 days and maybe we'll extend the trip to a full two weeks and see some of Scotland as well as Worcester & England's Sunny Sunshine Coast.

You could book a room at Fawlty Towers. The Silly Olympics aren't as popular as the regular ones.

If you're concerned about the costs, my understanding is that The Bouy, LTD has a special deal for you. In an unrelated baseless (and completely false) rumor, I heard that JB has been talking to Spacey about building a custom drum kit shortly after your proposed visit. I heard that he's said something about having money to burn by that time.
