Need some advice !!

Hi Guys,

I usually don't use much hardware, I've got a Mackie desk, a voicelive touch, and a MIDI keyboard.
I have trouble with routing, my MIDI keyboard works fine, but I think it's more luck than design.
in the edit > prefrences > MIDI > Devices section I've just ticked everything in the inputs and outputs
is this correct ? And as for the Instruments section below Devices, in the Output / Channel I just have my keyboard name,
1- 16, then my soundcard 2 - 16  and in the Uses Instrument, it's set to default is this correct ?
The reason for these questions, I've just bought Maschine Mk2 and I'm trying to set this up as a VST.
It is showing up and I can use it a little, but doesn't seem to route properly, also it shows up as VST in True Pianos
folder (surley that can't can't be correct) any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks
John

Kind of hard to say since we don't know what's in there. I don't have everything ticked. Just the devices I want to use.

Instruments depends on what you have. Its mainly used for setting up external synths, not softsynths. Since the Maschine is an external synth, you should try to find an INS file for it. Then you assign each of the channels to it. If you have more than one MIDI port, you have to assign each of the ports to the voices in the synth you are trying to setup. If not, then its pretty straightforward although you have assign each of the channels on the left to the instrument listed on the right. The INS file will allow the list of patches to be shown when you try to assign Bank and Patch to the track you're using it on.
