Need some advice on Dual Monitors

I asked this Q in the Computers Forum, but there seems to be more life here in the CH!!

I had this setup & working properly until my older graphics card blew out its capacitors. My other (working) GPU is a recently installed GeForce GT 240 1GB 128-bit DDR3 PCI Express card.
I'm tryng to avoid straining my sys........so, should I just get an adapter and use only the GeForce 240 or should I get a new graphics card (please consider my system specs below)??
What are the positives and negatives of using 2 graphics cards vs. using 1?
Thanks,

Does the 240 have two outputs?  I'm sure it does.

Just use both outputs on the one card, tell Windowz to extend the desktop onto the second monitor.
in Vista, make sure the Aero extensions are enabled. That transfers all the video processing from your cpu onto the GeForce card.

You can use two graphics cards, but there's no advantage for the application you want dual monitors for.

Didn't do more than 5 minutes research or so, but it looks like you can drive dual monitors with the GT 240, from the DVI and HDMI output ports.   Google GT 240 and dual head...

Many current-era laptops will have an extra VGA out (or better), and if you hook up a monitor to that, you'll have dual-monitor functionality.  Very handy.

    Hi Robert,
I just went to Best Buy and picked up a DVI adapter which worked!! I prolly should've checked around my studio room for this, but was a bit impatient to get it working again.

    Thanks everyone for the tips!!
