Neil Young With Auto Tune
OK really it is a vocoder. But could you ever imagine listening to Neil's natural voice nowadays after hearing this? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ld--A1c0EjY BTW I own this LP and am very proud. And, it is in almost unplayed condition.

Behringer X Touch, UAD Apollo Quad. 2 UAD2 Quads PCI (i think - inside the box whatever that is), Console 1. More guitars (40??) and synths (hard and soft) than talent. Zendrum!!!

Friend of mine tried really hard to get me to like Neil Young. I even went to a concert. I quite liked 'After The Goldrush', but the rest was an abysmal cacophony of sloppily played, forgettable songs, and the 'solo' on 'Like a Hurricane' made my teeth bleed.

bapu I've learned N.Y. is not an acquired taste. You're either born with it or not. The appreciation of N.Y. is entirely down to whether you like the ambience introduced by the distance between Mr Young and the planet he is allegedly supposed to be residing on. I kind of like 'Hurricane' as it is almost against all odds that the man who appeared to be supported by guy ropes at the time could have made any sound at all. JMO of course.

That is the best part of his music.

Wow....Neil Young.... Well, I used to like a few of his tunes in the early 70's but that's about it. Although he'll race me to the bank I find him extremely boring with a whiny voice. A couple days ago I was passing by a music special on a Comcast channel (Ch. 783 'PLDHD') and saw him playing lead axe on what I thought sounded like a version of Cinnamon Girl. The lead work was noodling, rambling, disjointed, and quite sloppily played. I was so embarrassed I could not continue watching. At least he's managed to stay in some spotlight so respect to him. He must have some good stories from the C/S/N/Y days. A good day to all...
