Nektar controller not getting sound

I am trying to get my nektar controller to play the Toontrack EZkeys program. I am using X3 and I plugged in my Nektar 61 plus and followed the Karl Rose video for set up in control surfaces and I cannot get any sound from the controller. I have piano sounds playing when I strike piano keys with the mouse but not the controller. Does anyone else have experience with setting up Ez Keys with a controller on X3?

Thanks,
Sharky

My Impact LX61+ works with SONAR Platinum. Why not follow the instructions provided by Nektar?

Is the input echo enabled on the midi track?

Is the keyboard selected for the midi track's input?

Now that I think of it, I seem to recall that the Impact worked as a MIDI controller right away when I first plugged it in. This is the way any MIDI controller would work, I think: If the OS recognizes it, so should SONAR. The link I gave you is mostly to get the DAW controller functions working. Therefore my new advice to the OP is to follow Keni's advice above.

PS: You can now get the Bandlab version of SONAR Platinum for free. You should consider it.

I followed that and for some reason in Sonar control surfaces, when you hit the "ok" button after setting up a new surface, it doesn't save the output selections. You can choose an option for them on the drop down box, but they just disappear once you hit "apply". It says 32 bit for the keys and my computer is 64, would that be the problem?

I can't seem to figure out how to load the ez keys into the midi track. I usually right click the Fx panel and choose soft synths and they click ezkeys. but there is not that option on the midi track. So how do you add ezlkeys to a midi track?

I got it to work by messing around with the inputs but there is latency. I clicked on the echo button and it reduced it but there still is a pretty big amount of latency. Is there a way to reduce that?

You should be using the M-Audio ASIO driver, not MME or WDM. If you are, maybe this will help:

If the M-Audio device does not come with an ASIO driver, there might still be a way to adjust latency in the interface control panel. Look and see. Remember: lower latency settings can reduce stability. You have to use trial and error to find a setting that works for you.

Thank you for helping out. I hate adjusting the latency settings but you are right, you have to screw around with it to get it right, there is no other way. Thanks again.
