.Net for scripting - Sony Vegas style
I don't know if anyone has already made such a request, but I'd really love to see the ability to process data using a .net language - ala Sony Vegas. The beauty of this approach is that it's language agnostic. The benefit to the user is merely having to see the documentation for the available (data) types. The down side for the bakers is - they have to create all those types. On the other hand - no need to maintain a scripting language and its internal interfaces - everything (that needs to be for the customer) is simply exposed via .net.
There's loads of us out there that can do simple scripts in C#, or even VB - and it's fairly easy to teach to newbies.
I believe these capabilities would genuinely extend the reach of Sonar for end users and also put it in a category way above its competitors. For sure, to add these capabilities to Sonar would be a hefty investment for Sonar - but I happen to think it would be worth it. Cakewalk has always been a Windows shop.
