    These are software emulations of a pair of hardware bass preamp stompboxes. They go for 99 EUR ($122).
     
    The demo track sounds pretty good but only shows them off in a hard rock style that might not be what everyone is looking for. I'd be surprised if they're limited to just that genre; some degree of bass distortion is desirable in just about every type of music that features electric bass. As good as the "Release Theme" is, it would be nice to hear some other examples. Maybe you could make them one, anxiousmofo.

    I’m hoping they expand the demos, as well. The initial ones lack nuance and range, and I have a feeling the plug, like the hardware, is pretty sophisticated and versatile.

    Those are some pretty advanced preamps, but unfortunately out of my price range as hardware. I look forward to trying these emulations. They’d probably be best served having someone who knows the hardware well do the demos, though. Bass is a secondary instrument for me.
