Never heard of this guitar co.

While searching in vain for a picture of one of my favorite bass players (Mel Schacher, Grand Funk) to post in the 'Cool Bassists' thread, I started wondering what kind of guitar Mark Farner played. This is a mystery I've been pondering since 1971.
I've never seen that axe before of since, but with the wonders of modern technology and the interweaving net thingy, I've just learned that he used a Messenger guitar.
I didn't know there were aluminum-necked (aluminium to our British brethren) guitars way back then. Turns out they were developed in the 1950s.
Now a company called Eastwood is making a Messenger-style guitar.
Has anyone ever played or seen a Messenger?

And I'm sure one of ya'll will find and post an image of Mel within 3.1416 minutes.

I saw Grand funk many times live from 69' - 71'. I always thought it was some kind of Gibson cuz of the headstock. It had a unique sound and they were one of my favorite bands. And LOUD. The loudest of all the bands that I heard. If you do find a picture please post it. the ones I found were not the guitar I saw him playing. It didn't have fake "f" holes.

Around 1974 & waiting for a custom left handed tele to arrive, the music store lent me a Messenger. I had it for 2 months & all I really remember is that it had a fuzz installed inside it.

Cool. There's a YouTube link on that web site for Grand Funk playing The Animals' 'Inside Looking Out', one of my favorite Funk songs.
    Thanks, Mark (Haigh).

Thanks Jonbouy! That's the guitar I remember but he had stickers pasted all over it so thats why I didn't see the f holes.
