New ASUS Computer and Zoom R24

I picked up a new ASUS computer and I use a Zoom R24 as my audio interface.  The processor is an AMD Phenom II x4 830 2.8 GHz w/6 gigs ram.  It comes with a 7600 rpm HD too.  I had very little problems using my Zoom on a laptop that uses and Intel Dual Core chip set.

Does anyone know if any issues using AMD chips with Zoom?  Zoom recommends Intel but told me today AMD chips can work but they are not as fast as Intel.

I can playback the Cori Yarkin demo without any dropouts or clicks.  Recording an acoustic guitar with vocals had some clicks until I changed the buffers setting.  All in all, I am happy so far with the new computer.

I also picked up a Dell 21.5" LCD monitor and X1 looks great.

TIA.

    Hi Monclee,

In the audio config section, I use Playback I/O at 256.
Sorry, but I don't know anything about rewire/reason.

What processor do you have?  What is your operating system and how much ram are you using?

Thats no the problem, i think its a bug whit AMD cause, i use this computer in a studio with other interfaces, and recording tools, :( its a shame, i would use the r24 in a intel procesor, what a shame seems to be a great product of zoom, but honestly that sucks.

Anyway Sonar Cakewalk its awsome, and i just love it.

maby you should read up at support ...

    http://www.zoom.co.jp/dow...4/software/#software93

Audio Driver | System Version 1.10

see that your motherboard chipset drivers are updated too !!

    USB hub is not supported.
    * Intel Chipset is recommended.

    Hi Guys,

I did call the support group for Zoom R24 about the Intel chipset recommendation and they said the AMD processor should be fine.  In my case, it is.  I have been running AMD with Zoom's ASIO driver version 1.3 for a over a year and the R24 has worked great for me.

    Hi Startekh,
    I meant System Version 1.10 (not 1.3).
