    Mac and thunderbolt only.  Once you budget for those, it don't look so cost-effective.  are thunderbolt cards still $500?

    You have to wonder, though, that the the I/O choices UAD makes are deliberate. I mean, it's really nothing to double or triple interface a unit with USB and/or Firewire...the chips are cheap as cheese, the technology is long amortized, and the cost is nothing compared to what UAD is charging for the product.
