New CCC Slow Downloads

Is anyone else experiencing the new CCC being slow downloading content? I'm currently downloading D-Pro which in the past took about half an hour. After 2 hours it's sitting at 43.2%! I've checked my connection speed and it's OK, so it would appear the problem is with CCC. I'm hoping to buy a new computer later in the year and if this is going to be the norm, full installation is going to be a nightmare.

I've always found CCC slow, so always download manually then place in CCC's download folder to install/update. Didn't download Dim Pro though, because there is no reason to apart from having a green light instead of yellow

Finally - 4½ hours to download D-Pro. Now over an hour and waiting for Foxboro update 1. Looks like I'll be using the "download manually and place in CCC folder" technique in future. I'm also going to move every update that's in the CCC folder onto an external drive - that could save lots of downloading time in the future.

took me over 4 hours, too, never takes long at all before the update--and I have great bandwidth at my home studio, too. But maybe the D-pro download was slow because of high traffic on CW servers?

No problems here - I finally updated to F as well.

    Two issues though spotted.

    1) VST 2 64 bit file path gets changed inccorectly in CCC for me (has been confirmed by others, it's generally happens when you have a custom path defined).

    2) Sonar Platinum keeps adding extra file paths into Preferences -> VST Settings. This is an issue that has been going on for some time now. I'll check the next release if it happens again I'll log a bug.

From what I know, they are Amazon servers......ISP throttle maybe?

I think it's local ISP or it's their local Amazon cluster - here in London UK no issue just charges down the line.
Throttling and time of day may play a part.
Also people need to list their actual download speeds... expected and actual. "Slow" is very much a relative term.

For me DP has been a very long download even in X3. From what I see each time DP is updated it is a full install i.e. program and samples. So however small a change in DP it will always be a full install of DP. Which as I have said in another post update for DP is very scary.

4 hours is a long time.  You can do things like speedtest.net to check your basic isp speed, or do a visual route check such as from here: (flash required) http://visualroute.visualware.com
C3 is using standard protocols for the download so it shouldn't be radically different than downloading via a link in the browser.  We will however, investigate.
