Personally I think they are all better than V Vocal, which I can hear working even before any adjustments are made ( kind of a phasing sound ).

Tried Autotune, but settled on Melodyne (using Essential) which I find totally transparent, and it starts at £89 which is pretty good.

              Hi Rob

Do you need an ilok with melodyne, and is it ok with Windows 7 64 Bit ?

    Melodyne all the way

I'll have three fingers of Glenlivet, with a little bit of pepper... and some cheese.

I think the Assistant and Editor versions work with Ilok, I think they are licenced for up to 3 machines. But the Essential version, which has basic but very effective pitch and quantize functions, just activates via internet.

The 28 day trial you can download needs your DAW to have an internet connection as it contacts Celemony whenever it is fired up, but this wasn't a problem for me, in fact I have left my DAW hooked up now just to make updates easier. Just have to be disciplined and not go surfing with it lol!

Give it a go though, blows away V Vocal and well worth the money ( I look at it as £89 less the tax man will get lol)

It is 64bit compatable too :)

The iLok killed this for me. It is not a good deal if you don't have the iLok IMO

antares and v vocal are incredibly powerful when used in tandem.
when an entire vocal performance needs pitch correction, it is easiest to insert a plugin like auto tune in the bin.  as we all know, however, sometimes auto tune does not do precisely what we want it to.
i use v vocal to spot correct wheenever autotune cant handle the imperfections in the vocal.
i also usee vvocal for doin crazy stuff.  i have heard the phasing on occassion but have not been able to determine what sets it off.  for me it is rare.

    so the answer is:

    BOTH

Have used Autotune in the past and thought it was great!  I'd recommend it for work on single notes!

I love most everything about Melodyne Editor.  ...although I find it odd there's no 'draw' tool' (like Autotune) especially to create smooth glissandos.  (...but I may not have that knowledge key inserted properly... )   the DNA technology is pretty awesome too- even though it still needs some work.

This is the EFX plug-in, which appears to only allow the vocal to sound like T-Pain, for certain levels of Pain: you don't get the fine adjustment ability you would get with Auto-Tune EVO or 7 or V-Vocal. It appears to have three set levels: kind-of-on (auto-pitch correct), middling-on (pitch correct with artifacts), or all-on (probably the setting you will always use ). V-Vocal can already do what this plug-in can do quite nicely, IMHO.

The only time I've heard phasing with V-Vocal is when there is headphone bleed.

    No bleed, no phase.

And I've learned that the occasional anomaly can happen if you try to correct a long phrase.  Soo...sing it wrong enough at my place, and you get to sing it again!  :o)

If I'm not mistaken, the Auto-Tune "EFX" is NOT the full version (ie, like Melodyne) -- it's basically a pitch correction but the reduced version.
