New Drum Synth !!

Hi,
Anyone know of a good drum synth that plays well in Sonar, for example
I have Superior Drummer with a few expansion packs, I had a look at
Battery 4, but I'm looking for one that gives you grooves, like Superior Drummer
Anyone any suggestions ? Budget wise about the same as Battery 4

Thanks
John

Steven Slate Drums 4 is excellent

+1 The sampler is basic (no fx or eq) but the samples are superb and it comes with some nice grooves and you can buy 3rd party grooves formatted for SSD4.  Settingn up 3rd party groove is a PITA though.  The groove player leaves a lot to be desired.

Addictive drums is great for grooves and has built-in fx etc..  Their web site has lots of affordable groove packs.  Of the ones I own AD is far better for grooves.

It still seem like ToonTracks is ahead of everyone as far as grooves go but I don't own them so I can't comment.

So are you looking for new grooves or new sounds, or both?

If you have Superior Drummer and a few expansions you will have a huge range of sounds available already. The temptation is always to get more but sometimes just getting down and dirty with the mixer, effects and multi outs can get you where you want to go. The Groove 3 Superior drummer explained video is a real eye opener and worth a look before you decide to buy another big package. (sorry if I am teaching you to suck eggs)

If you are after more grooves, check out some of the third pary options from Groove Monkee, Platinum Samples and Odd Grooves.

I have to agree with Bristol. I did a thread on how good it is.  I can't find it, though. Its title is BFD2 and Sonar a marriage made in heaven or something like that.
