New Duplicating Tracks brings different results

Hey music lovers,

The new Duplicate Track button is awesome, especially because I can duplicate Rapture Pro (I use it a lot) & it creates a new instrument track & a new synth in less than 2 seconds! Totally Kewell !

However, if I right click on a track and choose to duplicate the same track with more than 2 repetitions, I get different results. Sometimes I end up with alternating instrument and split instrument tracks. And if I check the Synth Rack, it has not added any new synths.  ???
Another time it added only MIDI tracks, though I was duplicating an Instrument Track.

Anyone else experiencing these weird things? Is this supposed to work this way?

Make sure no other tracks have focus. There is a difference between selection and focus.
If you click on a tracks header, that track will still have focus even if you select another track using the selection=click on the tracks number.

1- Use CNTRL+SHIFT+A to deselect all.
2- Then click only on the track number itself.
    3- Now try duplicating.

    Hi Chuck,
I did exactly what you said and I get the same results (with no synth added).
I am right clicking to duplicate & adding more than two repetitions.

I believe there is some confusion going on interpreting this buttons functionality.

Right clicking "Only" sets options / left clicking preforms the task.

If I may, I recommend reading this months Tech+Tips (or at least the section on Duplicating tracks).

    I hope this helps.

Chuck, I'm talking about right clicking on a track, then choose duplicate track. I get different results than with the new button.

I'm finding if I duplicate an instrument track that it doesn't work well. It does create an additional instrument track and an additional instance of the synth in the synth rack, but the track is assigned to an entirely unrelated synth.  However if I split the track beforehand into separate midi and audio tracks, select both, and then duplicate, it seems to work correctly.  So that's my workaround for now.

Can you create a recipe using steps ?

    Hi Anonymungus!,

Thanks for the report. This is now logged with development. We will contact you directly if we require any further details. As mentioned, the workaround for the time being would be to use the Duplicate Track button to individually create the new Simple Instrument Tracks.
